v1.33 observations about low framerate

M'kay, with all the hullabaloo about frame rates dropping, it seems the point has gotten across that there is a problem. So now how about

posting some observations that help nail down the source of the problem?

I dunno if this will help, but I can tell you that my experience with low frame rates has not been limitted to any particular location. I suspect that

the main reason that reports have come in about specific locations (such as Essen), the common factor is that an AO was placed there, it is an

important objective, many attackers and defenders concentrated there, and so most reports came form there. Perhaps had the AO been at Köln or

Antwerp or Amiens or Canterbury the reports would have been the same for those other locations? I reckon any large city or location having lots of

variety in the local terrain would cause performance to bog down. Add in loads of players shooting at each other and it only gets worse.

Here are a couple examples I have seen in since the v1.33 patch went live:

- A week ago last Saturday, I saw fellow flight members in DB7 bombers formed up on Gilze Airfield almost all CTD when 4 109s
showed up over head at 4km and trhe AI AAA started shooting at them. I was one of 2 who did not CTD.
- Yesterday, on Teamspeak with a fighter flight all members but one complained of the continual rain: 3 day/night cycles in a row. One
latecomer mission member had no clouds and rain at all! After I closed the game and logged back in again an hour later, I too got a
clear day - but before I did, I noted huge framerate drops to single digits - here are a few screenshots of that (note that these are
right after takeoff in a left-hand turn due south of Eindhoven Airfield, below cloud -
note the framerate and connection info
window in top-left and also the lat/long coordinates in the bottom right of the screenshots
):

Here is a screenshot of another oddity - note the equipment of the members roster:

A few more screenshots - I dunno if this will help, but I made sure to do a /time before capturing the shot. I know the "Mission Results Pending"

bug is supposed to be quashed, but I am seeing it more than I did before. The last 2 or 3 maps before the v1.33 patch I had some problems with my

computer locking up after impact with the ground, but now since those events are more seldom I am seeing them replaced with the "Pending" bug

instead, or an outright CTD. Automatic despawns in flight are up too, along wth random disconnects at any time (but particularly when a lot of

information is being transferred to/from the server I am guessing).

All these may well be connection related. I am in a rural area and on DSL, but the nearest telephone exchange is 4 miles distant. Since DSL's limit is

supposed to be something like 2 miles and in the extreme 3 miles, I think the 4 mile distance is really at the root of the problem.

Time of day seems to be one key to the disconnects and connection-related crashes. I have noticed that right around plus or minus 10 minutes

of midnight is one very disconnect-prone time (I think that is when my ISP changes my DHCP; sometimes the change doesn't go through and I lose

Internet access for a couple days - getting on the telephone with tech support and asking them to force a DHCP change usually cures this in a

few hours).

Anyway, here are some "Mission Results Pending" screenshots showing date and time:

Yes but they can't be on the same mission as they have different origin facilities.
