Test 2

- G1 = gophur in a panhard

- G2 = gophur2crs in an enemy plane

- set up G1 at town

- have G2 invulnerable over town so AA is going off like mad

- commander opens hatch

- ai sounds ramp up as head is exposed

- commander closes hatch

- ai sounds decrease as head is covered

- correct functionality

- start engine

- commander in/out sound ramps and decreases correctly

- start engine > full throttle > stop engine

- listen with commander

- start engine > minimum throttle > stop engine

- listen with commander

It seems that the volume for the commander is lessened with tthe engine off after a full throttle turn off.

But that's not really the bug, only part of it.

The bug is that when engine sound level increases other 3rd person sounds decrease. Then when the engine sound abruptly quits they don't return to normal (shouldn't have changed to start with).

This is way easier top test just using the driver and opening the hatch.

Test 3

- spawn panhard where ai is going off

- open hatch

- notice ai sound volume

- start engine

- external sounds decrease

- this is correct functionality

- as throttle increases engine volume increases and external volume decreases

- this is correct functionality

- with engine at full throttle/volume turn engine off

- external sounds fail to return to normal volume and remain at decreased volume when engine throttle/volume was at maximum

- BUG

We can probably fix that.

How old is your driver?

We don't want anyone to buy soundcards. Neither does any modern system builder. There is basically no need as onboard sound has proven again and again to be as good for surround gaming, better in many cases.

I for one will never put another sound card in a system I build except for the express purpose of doing QA for those remaining few who still use them.

This is my personal opinion and I'm sure there are many holes in it.

I have the most current up to date sound drivers for my soundblaster audigy 4, i even double checked the website just to make sure.

Like a boss. I consider this fixed.

(There are other sound bugs that I am trying to get a coherent report on so I can replicate and see if I can find the issue.)
