  • 2 weeks later...

Umm... I had no issues crashing in this game since my return a couple weeks ago.

Now, in the last two nights, my gaming session has been afflicted by this same error forcing my computer to shutdown the WWIIol.exe and thereafter I have to restart my computer because launching WWIIol.exe again (right after the CTD) merely rewards me with locked personas at the persona selection screen (and thus I'm unable to play).

Also, I just suffered another CTD this time I was met with pop up warning which stated "C++ Runtime error caused by program WWIIol.exe (or whatever that .exe file name is). Drats too... because I was just about to take on 5 ATGs, 3 Bofors, and an ET all by myself! :/

For future reference... yes, you will get a locked persona after a CTD, but you don't need to reboot. When you restart the game after a CTD, as soon as it gets past "initializing chat", Alt F4 back to desktop and launch again, whereupon it will work. That's the quickest way.

Don't need to restart there. When you get locked personas just relaunch. We're hoping to have that fixed in 1.34.

I wouldn't suggest that. What made you decide to try that and what were the results?
