With the last patch my FPS dropped down to between 15 and 35. It used to be between 30 and 65.

The last few sessions I've had 20 at best. Capping and guarding at 11FPS is kinda stupid. Forget about anything more aggressive.

I'm sure others have had problems. This is a very plain vanilla rig ... 2.8 X4, 5770, XP Pro with 6Gig DDR3.

A gentle and optimistic WTF?

TIA

p.s. I've bumped Priority up to RealTime with no effect at all.

p.s.2 I suspect there's a better Forum for this ... move as appropriate.

I have 2.8ghz x2 and I know its not keeping up with the game anymore, and I also know that the game (like 99% of games) doesnt take advantage of more than 2 cores, so x4 is no more useful than x2. So that is probably your lowest point right now.

I got a nice increase in FPS after patch was released, but as the night went on, my FPS began to drop to 17-18 in large battles, this was defintely related to what town i was in and what direction i was looking trhough. then i got a ODE error and CTD, my first ever!

Something not quite right with the patch me thinks...

I think most people were having FPS issues. I wouldn't go messing with settings until Rats take another swing at it.

Lots of people have problems - some very big ones - with FPS. My squad is losing members who unsub because of the constant CTDs. This isn't good for anyone. I want to, as gently and politely as I can, remind CRS that EVERY time they introduce a patch of any significance this kind of thing happens. My question is were pretty uniforms and bizarre animations worth going through this pain for?

The CTDs have gone down quite considerably (97%) since 1.33.2.

I'm not tracking any specific issues with FPS here but I am keeping an ear out for them.

What do your .benchremagen and .benchinfantry numbers look like?

Are you running AMD or Intel?

Ok, good feedback.

I'll add 1 datum: right after the patch I was down to 20s and maybe teens, but only after a while did it drop. I mean really, 6FPS is heh ... that's a trout in the face.

p.s. in VonH's thread ExpatPpm pointed to this one in COMMUNITY SUPPORT > TESTING AND BUG REPORTING: http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=357171&page=7

Sidebar: I loaded the game into a 3Gig RAM disk and saw 0 change in performance. Wasn't expecting this to work but it's a major thing with ArmA.
