No front audio with new patch?

Heya peoples.

I built my system and OS for use with WW2OL, I use Windows 7 64bit to make use of extended RAM. I have a 1GB vid card and a Soundblaster 5.1VX. Since the new 1.33 update I cannot use Win7 for the lack of nearly all the front and rear engine audio, its just too strange with no sound except guns.

The bombers and some tanks work flawless, but all the spits and hurries are a no go, this seems to be "model' related and I can't get my head around it :(

I'm stuck back in XP with 3.5gb of usable ram, sucks, my hopes were high today when the 2 new patches were released, but just updated, loaded my os and blahhhhh, same crap.

I dont want to purchase a new audio card, my one is new and works with every other game out there.

Any advice, suggestions? or is a wait n see thing with CRS?

I don't have that sound card but I don't think that or Win 7 is the problem.

X audio likes to detect what you system set up is but you still have to set a few things right.

Run Settings.exe and choose from the available sound devices.

Also be certain that if you are running a 5.1 sound set up on your sound card that you actually have 5.1 speakers set up correctly (sounds like you do).

Make sure you have your drivers latest (probably so but worth a check).

If that fails, remove the sound card and try your on board audio (which in all likely hood is as good or better depending on the age of your sound card).

Let me know how it goes so I can either do more testing on that sound card or have an answer for others who might have a similar issue.

Dimes to dollars though that it is the audio device selection in settings/preferences.

What he said. 5.1 selected when using headphones or just 2 speakers will give those results.
