SMG and LMG death firing?

It seems whenever I kill an e LMG or SMG they continue to fire for a good few seconds after they die. Feels like about 5 seconds.

This never happened before as I recall. Not sure a bug, but it is annoying.

I have noticed same.

If smg or lmg both sides die while shoting the shots go for several seconds on.

Well, the sound goes on for too long. Something changed as it didn't do that before. Sure hope it is being looked into.

Very very annoying and crappy(aka making it look like a buggy game)

It wasn't in before 1.33

fyi, someone said that they got shot by the pistol (of LMGr) and both died, but then it was the LMG sound that played for a few seconds after. It didn't happen to me and I didn't hear it, but was mentioned over chat.

Judging by how it happens all the time, I'd say it's pretty easy to reproduce. Since the smg/lmg keeps firing for anywhere between a few seconds and up to a minute after death, most likely it's until the dead player despawns. And it's not only enemies, friendlies do it too when they die.

The question is was it a few seconds (which is actually a very long time) or was it a few rounds (which is actually quite short)?

Because #2 is a feature not a bug.

It lasts annoyingly long. It may not "be" a bug but it certainly looks buggy to anyone experiencing it. (BTW its around 2-3 seconds I would say.)

I already answered that. It's always at least several seconds, sometimes much longer, which is why I suspect it's until despawn. i.e. anywhere between 10 seconds and the auto-despawn time. I'm 100% certain it's neither intentional, nor a feature.

I've noticed it a few times since 1.33 came out. It's usually a couple of seconds, though it probably seems longer when you're already frustrated from dying! :)

It certainly seems like a bug to me, but in the great scheme of things, it's pretty harmless.

It's more than a couple of seconds, more like 5+ minimum. I'm going to start timing them when the next campaign starts. (Can't be arsed with intermissions these days).

I've been getting this as well. Several seconds of full auto fire after death. Pretty sure you can reproduce just by killing someone whilst they have their trigger held down.

Ticketed #5289.

Ok yeah that's fubar. Sorry I didn't just test it.

What happens is the sound continues to play until the dead LMG actually despawns.

Having 2 computers is awesome.

I'd love to get the smg/lmg fire bug back if it would take us to not crashing to desktop every 3 minutes.
