Last night my tank commander was deaf to the extent that I couldn't hear a crusader drive and park 300m away. Very much like the old deaf panhard commander - I could hear better from the gunners position with the hatch closed.

Logged on today to have a quick check and now the commander is alright, but the when I close the driver's slit the audio gets louder, open it again and it gets quieter.

I just watched a Sherman 76 drive right past my Stug(g) (w/ Commander UP) and I didn't even hear him. We were about 500m's apart and I never did hear him... until he finally used his MG on our FB.

Go figure... I thought I had fixed my sound problems with this game... but I guess not.

I too notice that the more I play the game the more the sounds around me disappear. I have updated drivers and tried different sound configs in the game...no luck.

Seems like the ancient problem on the Mac before I started fixing the sound - there is a limited # of sounds available and somehow in XAudio some sounds aren't being released when they finish playing so eventually you have fewer and fewer available.

Had something similar to this in a 38T today, whilst in gunner seat silence while friendly tank drove past, soon as i went to the loader position i could loundly and clearly hear the tank even though they sit 5 inches apart so either one is to loud or the other is two quiet.
