By antwerp / schilde

several squadies just ctd'd within a minute of each other. Me included.

plus about 3 or 4 ea all about the same time.

*edit we lost all squad members within a few minutes of one another to ctd. 6 planes in total.

Will be doing full reinstall and trying again. Cheers! see ya tomorrow.

I didn't CTD but stutters SUCKED. I couldn't hit anything around Schilde.

I'd line it up shoot and the EA would just warp away.

You are forgetting the mass CTD on Gilze airfield a couple weeks ago, when 4 planes of JG52 showed up, remember? I was one of 2 DB7s who did not CTD, lifted anyway in the hopes of offering sufficient distraction that the flight could respawn and lift in a safe direction, and ended up fighting all of them back and forth 10km away then to the airfield and back out again until they left. I RTB'd, despawned, and rejoined the relocated flight in time to lift from Brussels, but my framerate was very low the whole time I was engaged.

Reddog went off in some detail about that experience - he said it seemed to be tied to AI flak, plus arrival time (I was the last to arrive, just seconds after everyone else had already CTD'd). My framerate plummeted when that was going on - I was in upper single digits, and never got out of the teens even when 10km away from the airfield. Since I never got out of sight of the JG52 attackers, they are the common factor - once they left, my framerate returned to normal. In combination with AI AAA could it be that 109s contribute to the CTD experiences? Could it have something to do with massed numbers of players flying the same squad colors?

I actually like this theory....

JG52 shows up, mass CTDs ensue. Even though we have some friendly fire casualties now and then, like me last night.

We have been testing out our new EMP weapon. It only makes plug pullers CTD.

You know oyaji... I think you may be on to something there with the flak. And I am beginning to feel very strongly that it may have something to do with the not just flak but from perhaps also the shots being fired. Not sure exactly if it is the muzzle flash or it trying to figure out the physics but my stutters always get really bad when the flak starts firing but it almost always lags when I fire my weapons or see someone else fire theirs. Perhaps something else is causing the overload and the weapons firing is just the icing on the cake but I am beginning to notice a pattern.

I've always suspected the AI flak of being a cause (but not a definitive one) of several problems:

Stutters

MRP (Getting shot down by flak used to be an automatic MRP for me)

Falling through the Earth
