I have observed my ingame map for several weeks now. In former times I was often pi**ed by the the ingame map which did not show the real status of AOs, DOs and towns.

But at the moment the map is always up to date, does not care whether I was afk for some time or in a long-time mission :)

Kudos to the server programmers and of course also to the client programmers if involved.

Outstanding job :)

Yeah thats really good that you see this already cause those improvements are scheduled for 1.34!

If it is.. then indeed ROCKING news.. to many axis setups occured under cover of the stale map hehe.

this ^^^

pfft my map is rarely updated without a lot of clicking and zooming, much worse than it ever was prior to 1.32. Same internet connection, machine, etc., the only difference aside from game is video drivers, but all drivers suck and always have so I attribute the problem to the game not polling when it should.

Yep, I often have to click on map to see updates too, will be a welcome fix.

What I would really like to see though, is all marks to be visible, even when you change missions. I hate changing missions and losing all the marks that were just there? They just need to be marks on the map that everyone sees.

If you are seeing the map update you are just lucky, as no changes were made yet. Our time machine is currently broken :-)

If no one at CRS touched the related code, neither on server nor on client side, something at my side must have been changed.

I observed it for a few more days now and I it is still the same: "My" map is always up to date (concerning AOs, DOs and town owners).

It was much more worse for years. I had to click on each town along the front-line to get the current status on my map. Sometimes I did not saw on map if a neighbouring town has been captured. I had to click manually on each town along the front-line to get current status on map.

Here are two things which has been modified at my side during the last 8 weeks:

1. I got IP-TV and an increased bandwith. 6 Mbit/s to 16 MBit/s. But I can't imagine that it effects the BGE performance. The BGE network traffic is extremely low.

2. I updated Tuneup Utilities "2010" to "2011" which includes a kind of "live optimization" of preselected programs when started. But also in this case I can't believe that it effects BGE network traffic.

Any other ideas? I do not know what caused it at my side, but I want to keep it up!!

I am very happy with the map performance atm ... please do not touch source code :D
