Rank Transferring

Not sure where else to post this, so...

As long as rank is required to access weapons, imo rank should transfer across all three countries up to the highest rank level that is currently required to access all weapons. (ie, rank 7 atm, if rpg's make it at rank 10, then rank 10, etc).

Having to rank up 2 times in 9 branches to access weapons that were previously available is frustrating to say the least.

Just because you're good at using a Churchill doesn't mean that you should immediately be able to access a Tiger though... I guess I agree with you' date=' though, when it comes to the two allied countries.[/quote']

are you serious???

you don't have to be good at anything. Play long enough and you will get rank unless you do absolutely nothing. Rank isn't a measure of skill, simply a measure of "experience". I really wish they would remove the rank requirements for equipment altogether and allow your accrued points to "purchase" the equipment you want. As long as you had enough points, you can spawn anything that is in supply. They may be working towards this, but until then, that's the reason for the OP.

The reason it stopped at rank 5 (as far as I can tell) is that you used to have access to all equipment at rank 5 and needed rank 6 to post missions. Well, now you can post missions at rank 5 and need rank 7 for all equip, so the artificial barrier on rank sharing needs to be moved.

AFAIK, the only weapon that requires > E5 is the sniper rifle which has always struck me as absurd. You can use all of the other most expensive and arguably most deadly weapons in the game at E5 across all branches, but you have to reach E7 to get a scope on what isn't even a sniper rifle, just a normal battle rifle?

I am sure there is an interesting backstory behind that as I also recall when all infantry weapons were freed at E5, along with binoculars and everything else, but E6 was the mission maker level, or was it the other way around on the binocs? At any rate, my assumption was that CRS responded to a lot of whining from the right people in creating this anomaly with the sniper.

Since I don't usually play allied, I haven't particularly cared about why < E6 rank transfers from side to side but not between allies, but that seems at least as odd to me. I suppose CRS was devising a reason for people to keep playing after they had achieved E5 as one ally or the other, but I'm not sure that is as effective as just sorting out bugs.

Perhaps all of this will be revisited one day, seems like it would be a good idea.

I don;t remember discussing a change for that but I am getting old. I'm asking around the office.

It's only the sniper rifle.

Like Posting a mission we like those at non shared ranks. They're perks.

I understand the perk concept, but isolating the sniper rifle for this treatment doesn't really fit very well. I don't personally care too much given my rank in the areas I care about, but it's hard to imagine why a relatively low value weapon requires higher rank than the DDs, good armor, good fighters, etc.?

It can't be to avoid misuse and waste, tigers are routinely wasted by anyone who can spawn one. There must be a way to provide perks of some kind after E5 without using an illogical equipment access matrix I think.

Except mission posting is available at rank 5. Has been for a while now.
