Map/Minimap discrepancy

This a really annoying bug. The distances on the minimap and the map are different. When an object appears to be 100m away on the "big map", they seem to be 133m away on minimap.

Imo this bug should be classed high-priority. It has been around for a long time and I'm sure many hundreds of mortars have missed their targets because of this.

A *possible* cause I can think of is having a big screen (I have 23 inch), and one of the circles being aligned for a certain percentage of a certain screen size. But I really don't know.. Just hope it will be fixed soon!

EDIT: I think the big map is the correct one.

Yep, this has been reported a few times in detail. Surprised it is still here. In one way it isn't too big a deal (just have to multiply by 3/4 all the time), but in another, since it is a very visible bug, it does matter.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon as I would guess it to be an easy fix. Heh, famous last words.

Bumped the ticket on this one to see if I can get some eyes on it.

Does any one have a set of images that can be used to measure what the range actually is by sight? Map is great and all but it would be good both gameplay wise and also from a debugging point to be able to quickly compare the ranges of objects both on and off map.

Looks like Ramp couldn't fix this. Couldn't find the error. So we've added distance to waypoints which you can use for ranging things and we've reverted the mini map so it doesn't lie to you.

In the future were working on a new firing mechanism for mortars that should make ranging them much better.
