Vehicle penetration sound

Please reduce the volume of the penetration sound when inside vehicles like tanks or trucks. The sound is obnoxiously loud in comparison to all other sounds.

Sit inside a metal box and have someone throw rocks at it...

Bullet impacts are loud. Even standard ap/ball, and especially incendiary and HE. Even rounds that just fly over your head, the supersonic crack will make your ears ring.

Imho the vehicle engine noises should only be audible for ~400m, and firing your weapon should cause temporary hearing loss. Especially cannons and automatics. The bolt actions aren't so bad for a few shots, but pistols and smgs and lmgs are hell. I lost my ear pro on a m240 range once... definitely could not audio-locate a truck 1200m out afterwards.

I know the sound should be loud, but I'm talking about a gameplay consideration here. Realistically, you should be damaging your actual hearing firing your rifle without earplugs in, but small arms sounds are scaled to be in line with other sounds so that you can hear things around you without puncturing an ear drum when you fire at the enemy. The same consideration should be taken with the penetration sounds, because when you have your volume at a level to hear all other sounds in comfort, the penetration sound is ear splitting.

Just to play devil's advocate:

When you have the volume cranked up so you hear really soft sounds pretty good the loud stuff is really loud!
