This is going to come up sooner or later. Similar story to the Lee-Enfield's rear peep.

IRL the peep blurs considerably, but as we all know, you can't cause blurring in the game. Alas, you should be able to see at least the entire front sight post and ears in the sight picture. Sight picture should be very similar to this.

Also reviewing eye distance from reap sight on these assaults versus regular rifles.

Would like to add the blur but not sure if we an atm.

Nice pic.

Question though:

Am I the only one who didn't have a problem using the site while in beta?

I actually liked it and thought it was dead on/cohesive to the game experience.

I didn't have much of a problem using it, until I had to shoot at laterally moving EI. But I think the main point is that it's not correct. Unless you **** your head back as far as you can on the stock, you will see much more through the inside of the aperture than what you do in the game.

we are anticipating a repeat of the enfield experience and are discussing whether we should let that happen or not, remember this is not a final version you're playing with

Agreed, seems like a no brainer to change the rear sight before release to avoid this becoming an issue (as it will and as it should).

Just remember, we don't care about "process", we care about "results".

In a real life situation, how "usable" is the sight, how obstructive is it?

How does the shooter see things when focused far and something is close to the eye?

Does a real life shooter have two eyes? How does that second eye come into play?

Nobody cares if you have the rifle modeled 100% perfectly, the size of the aperture modeled perfectly and the distance to the eye modeled perfectly if the result ends up being something very different from real-life usability.

"Results" always trumps "process".

romz you['re] my damn hero

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

If you're going to argue with Romz, do your homework before you post. He gets it, and you can't teach common sense, you have to be born with it.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....

The current m1 sight is extremely frustrating.

If its not changed, like the old Enfield sight, there wilkl be a storm of complaints and rightfully so. Its awfull. Solution is imho to make the peephole larger and the ring much thinner.

The current sight is virtually impossible to lead with, which of course is unintentional.

I'm pretty sure this means they're going to change it. ;)

if we can't get a blur effect (and we aren't saying anything about that until afterwards) we'll just open it up like we did with the Enfield

But the question is would we have changed it without this post? Nah I kid. Of course we wouldn't.

I think I already posted this...

Looking a lot better.. One thing I have noticed, though, the part that covers the whole rear sight assy. is pretty narrow on your model. Definitely a nit-pick, but if it could look like this, much better ;)

edit: your windage/elevation knobs are a little long, too.

Yeah Fire. I'll see if we can get some adjustments to that. It's real iconic and I don;t mind nit picking it a little.
