maybe a little too high?

after watching some vids, and comparing them to the m2 in beta, it seems like the RoF may be a little faster.

the one in beta and the live one seem to fire at the same rate.

i've never fired one irl, and dont know how to determine RoF.

maybe someone who knows more about this can test it.

This is a bug that's been known for a couple years now. The .50 on the M10 has the same ROF as the air mounted .50s, which is incorrect. The M10 used the ground version that had a ROF 100-150 RPM less than what's current modeled in-game. It's a pretty low priority problem and given all the other stuff CRS is working on I don't think we'll see it changed to the accurate ROF soon. I doubt it confers any significant benefit for M10 drivers to have a buffed M2, so there's probably not much need either.

They have separate files but they are effectively the same (air and regular m2 50cal).

I'd change ti but I'm not sure what else is using that weapon. I can create a new one no prob if someone wants to give me dead accurate info on the ROF.

Take a couple minutes.

The USMC today teaches ~550 RPM, but even within the military, various manuals say different things, ranging from 450 to 650 rounds per minute.

The an/m2 was around 800 rpm, An/m3 about 1200.

EDIT: I just tested it again offline.. The m10 and the H87 are performing about 750 rpm.

Honestly you're going to have variances from gun to gun (fools not knowing how to set headspace and timing, ammo variation, tolerance stacking etc..), so 550 I think is a good average for the ground model M2. It's never an exact with MG ROF. Temerature, lube, ammo, length of the belt it's pulling, dirt, worn springs/parts etc..

Ours are set about there so I'm not messing with it.

So how do you determine RoF from the client end? Time the magazine?

Round counter and stopwatch.

H87 shot 753 rounds in 10 s, 753 x 6= 4518 rpm divided by 6 guns is 753rpm per gun.
