And this differs from sappers before how' date=' exactly?[/quote']

Took out 1 shrekker and with 5rounds killed 3 ets I never would have been able to get as a sapper.

so then you are saying that a bazooka/shreck had no effect on a tank crew or the insides unless it hit very specific areas?

a round blowing into a crew compartment only hurt the crew if it was in line with his head? aka just like an ATR?

and you want me to belive that right?

You really over-estimate WWII unitary HEAT....I've seen RPG holes in M-41 light tanks no more than an inch from the gunners ear and it did nothing to him, with a clean penetration.

It all depends on warhead design and a great many other things...but I think discussing the shreck liner here in the forums would largely be a waste of time...

HEAT modeling needs to be improved in the game...

You might go do a little research on average post-penetration casualties in allied AFVs before posting opinions about what should happen. WWII RPATS are not necessarily the one shot kill you seem to think they are, nor does penetration translate 1:1 into kill probability...

I fear tanks are going to be at a real disadvantage without better HE...

And, of course, tanks trying to camp ABs will get blown away buy the guys shooting through windows from their own infantry spawns.

If this is possible then CRS seriously didn't do their homework. Anti-tank rockets, even today, can not be fired inside a building due to the high powered exhaust blackblast of the rocket motor.

I don't think that the RPATs are necessarily finished in some aspects.

What would give you that idea?

Yay for the death of "ET/pan drives straight through town killing with impunity/no infantry cover". They will now have to surround town from 300m+ and wait for inf to clear before charging in.

Inf don't cover anyone' date=' ever. They're kind of republican and selfish.[/quote']

correction, the unwashed hordes of most of the playerbase don't cover, just like they don't set frus, tow or defend.

there are plenty of players who do guard tanks. Most of the people who are in squads and post on these forums probably cover from time to time. I enjoy doing it,just a few sorties ago I guarded a gun and kill 3 EI.

This is from Operation Bluecoat, by Ian Danglish, page 117:

"In Chenedole on that hot and still August afternoon, silence fell as villagers disappeared indoors and the Rifle Brigade moved into the village. 'PIAT' gangs' picked their way from house to house in search of the German tank that had depatched Sergeant Allsopp's Sherman. Stone buildings covered their advance, and the enemy tank was soon found, sitting menacingly in the middle of the deserted street. Hussars and Rifle Brigade accounts are consistent in referring to it as a 'Panther', as with earlier sightings. In fact, this was s.SS-Pz.Abt. 102 of which we shall hear more later. But whether a Panther or Tiger, the PIAT gangs faced a formidable enemy. The tension broke with a violent explosion against the tank's turret. Smoke plumed upwards. A second PIAT bomb flew, and again a solid hit was registered on the turret. To the firers dismay, the tank was not penetrated. The tank lurched forward, crashed to a halt, then engaging reverse gear it ground away backwards, disappearing around a building. The PIAT teams were relieved to have driven off the monster, though annoyed that it could survive two direct hits which they felt should have reduced the turret crew 'to porridge.' "

Like I said, many mitigating factors, but it is not going to be an "I wish you were dead-click" weapon. and 5 rounds is wayyy too much. I want to enforce that since this was a crew served weapon, others should help resupply ammo. I know thats not standard with other units, but we gotta start somewhere.

Exactly, sappers have to run to their targets making easier for other tanks to shoot at, with bazzokas you an shoot from hiding positions instead being a target

And doesnt have to wait for the tank to stop, this is a huge plus, moving tanks are a target as well, is like a portable atg :)
