Some week ago I was bofors and was leaving the AB I reach outside the walls of the armybase, a He111 shows ups drops all bombs inside the ab area I see all bombs fall inside AB I had the wall protecting me from any shrapnel but when the bombs explode I'm kill none fell over the wall on my pos.

Do bombs negate any obstacles between the blast and the player if they explode close enough?

what you see and what actually the player shooting you see are different.

Many times i have been shot at when it appears the person shooting me in tank or atg etc appear to be hitting no where near me, but i die.

What he said.

Especially when a plane is dropping 4+ bombs at once, I never take "what I see" as what really happened.

I don't think that the shooting from a gun/tank/infantry is the same has a plane dropping their bombs.

Also when bombs explode they leave a black spot on the ground I went back to my location and there was none.

I'm not sure but I think bombs and mortar rounds have different user tracking systems and are not the same has ballistics like mg fire and gun fire.

Bombs are not tracked, only by the client which then tells the server where they hit, which then the server finds out who was within the kill zone so to speak and sends them the death signal.

Bombs follow the same unaccurate system as bullets.

However this system was increased by like 100% in 1.31 or so. But from a distance it can still differ 2m.

Bombs kill you in the client they were dropped in, so what you see in your client may be a bit different due to internet latency and timing. Mortars are tracked by the server so they what you see is what everyone sees. The system improved somewhat in the past version or two but bombs dropped from a height are probably the worst case. In your case it's likely a bombed actually fell on your head in the bombers client or nearby and the shrapnel hit you.

Do bombs and mortars kill you if you are in an AI pit? What about in the concrete pill boxes?

If the AI pit explodes you die.

Shrapnel doesn't go through walls or other solid objects so if you are prone in a destroyed AI pit (the sandbags) and a bomb falls next to it you will not die.

The bomb will ALWAYS explode in YOUR view past where it really explodes. Due to lag, the real impact point will be ~ 10-20m off (assuming 300 kph horizontal speed and 200ms lag)

Therefore, the bomb you see land on the other side of the wall, actually landed at your feet.

bah' date=' I meant if you are in an ATG pit, or concrete pillbox, will the bomb get you?[/quote']

Only if it blows inside or sharpnel gets in.

Anyways if its lag than I'm ok with it but this only happen to me once and was while I was allied and with he111
