This is awesome. I just found this.

Thanks to Elegance for taking the time to figure all this out and document it.

*THIS* link should be a sticky and mandatory reading by all allied players.

...and "wow/omfg" at the skewed points... CRS definitely needs to address this.

Sorry if everyone else already knew about this. :D Yah, I'm slow sometimes.

I'd say this is the same for Allied ATGs.

Should be a wake up call to how terrible the ATG visual damage model etc whatever is

Of course it is. The difference is I will never do that kind of guide for the axis. ;)

The only guns that need to be redone are the t0s and the light AAA. The rest can wait until we get entering/exiting vehicles, even if that is five years in the future.

EDIT: and forgot, great resource elegance, thanks!

Well one reason for making the guide was to dramatically increase the atg and aa gun losses on the axis side thereby dramatically increasing the amount of whining in the forums => quick fix very soon (the real soon). I mean really once you have seen the guide there is no excuse to not one shot kill every one of them. Apart from the headless pak38 lol.

1.35 i'd be happy to see all atg and aaa redone to have death animations for both crew and also the barrel and maybe the whole atg.

Tanks have it (well not the commander, but you can if you want) so atgs should do too.

I don't think such animations would be worth it. I'd rather see enterable/exitable vehicles in 2.0. Hopefully I won't lose my ability to play the game in my old age though.

fix gun crews?

pfftt we need 3d person tanks :D

Different member of staff. Maybe some day you'll get it.

As to this, I'm moving it to the Bug forum. I'll make sure that it's looked at.

That is a huge task. I know that an audit of some of the ATG is planned, but not sure when.

Tbh MM with allies having this guide and axis not having one for allied guns, thats a nice competitive advantage for the allies. I say leave it like it is!

(But it does make a mockery of the modeling accuracy and invites questions what else is wrong with your models. PZ 3H hull machine gunner anyone?)

Old models created by people who are no longer with the company. It's something to be looked at, but no timeframe for it.

I just don't understand the low priority for fixing something that is obviuosly wrong when the problem has been laid out so clearly. I don't think the Rats know how much this drives players away from the game as realism in damage models is one of it's most attractive features.

What the Rats see, that you and I don't see, is all the reasons people give for unsubbing. If ATG damage modelling was listed often enough in the unsub reports, I'm sure it would be higher priority.

From reading the complaints in the forums, I conclude there are many features, or lack there of, that cause people to unsub. For example, I'll bet more people have unsubbed because there isn't a North Africa theater than because of ATG damage models, but I don't know if that can ever be verified. So give the Rats the benefit of the doubt. They have data we don't, and this game is their baby and their livelihood.

When a noob/weasel asks, "How do I kill that gun?" I always answered, "Shoot him in the 4ss" ...

... I'm trying to work out if that is still the most reliable method - across all of the gun types. I shall do a bit of statistical analysis ... soon ;)

Sad state of affairs when you look at it all laid out in one document.

Great work elegance ... I assume Gerry will have their own version soon (ish)
