Flying a 109F4, I flew deck like a strafing run. Had another player use US Bazooka to fire at me. Hits were scored both times but as the pilot, there was no audio or indication I was hit other than how the plane flew. First hit plane flew like left wing came off but visually plane was fine. Player who fired the bazooka stated hit was left wing but saw no visual damage but did see hit graphic. Second hit was mid plane underbelly. Again no indication to pilot that plane was hit. Just dropped down and into hillside. Ground player did see hit graphic. The US bazooka does not trigger hit audio to pilot for plane taking damage and doesn't seem to trigger visual damage graphic. Not tested with others.

The visual damage models for planes are kind of all or nothing as you may be aware. Sounds consistent with the rest of the game.

What visual damage graphic ? The wing coming off ? That only haoppens if the wing sustains sufficient damage to come off. A plane will feel "like a wing is missing" if it sustains a high level of damage (which causes loss of lift and increased drag) but not enough to have removed it yet.

There are at least 5 levels of damage from slight to "wing off" that a wing can sustain. It could go as high as 13 if you spread the hits over different parts of the wing.

I was thinking about this some more last night and I think that the shaped charge jets probably aren't imparting very many joules into the thin surface of the wing.

That would be expected functionality.

he's also pointing out a sound issue where the pilot gets no audio feedback of being hit by 'zooka like objects.

Yeah, pilot should receive feedback sound from that hit.
