This could be the weird misses that has happen on the campaign around 1.33 with mp40.

Go to the Red circle under tree and aim at vehicle spawn

Use your mp 40 or the US Thompson aim iron sights while standing(don't move) and do single shot with iron sights wait one sec and keep shooting.

I believe the bullets should hit near where iron sights are but often you will see a very weird bullet hit in absurd way where your iron sights were not aiming, waiting that 1 sec should have improve your aim this doesn't improve at all.

On the british and french smg this wild bullets do not exist to such extreme.

All of the guns do that. It would be nice if instead the rounds hit where the barrel is aimed (of course with the realistic inherent dispersion, but at any range for hip firing we wont be able to tell) and when firing the recoil would result in a dispersion rather than a completely random pattern.

The french and british smg do not have those wild shots , the problem is that the accuracy seems not to increase when you pause even more than 1 sec.

Edit: were all the tests done with iron sights and as single shots? I do not understand, you did not post enough information.

I tested each SMG 3 times, here is a screenshot from a test for each SMG. The results were negligibly different each time. I made a circle in each picture to show where the closest 15 shots landed in a group.

Those Thompson bits are odd. The weapon, ammo, weapon animation (controls things like jitter and muzzle rise and arm sway) are all exactly the same. The animations them selves are exactly the same.

Need more testing on those spreads.

As to the OP. The mp40 has more dispersion while the Thompson has more rise. There is also a random factor in the dispersion dynamics that would account for the occasional odd trajectory. All adjustments to bench dispersion are amplified when firing not aimed.

I think that higher dispersion with the dispersion dynamics are giving odd hits my ironsights were aim at a particular place I shot 2 consecutive rounds and both of them where not or near the ironsight?!

What it seems is that dispersion values seems to be static and not adapt to the player input if you slow the rate of fire on iron sights to single some bullets will be quite quite off of were you sights are align, it seems to get worse if you dont res-position your ironsight just let the gun aim where it ends aiming and shoot the shots they begin to go off.

yeah, and those amplifications are why when firing at a player while slowly moving that all the bullets tend to barely hit the barn door at 10 meters.

theres no reason the SMGs should have wild shots like that.
