Strange bug, lost all text and control

This happened to me twice yesterday and has never happened before.... .

While typing, i have suddenly lost all on screen info, chat bar/minimap etc and been unable to move, or even despawn.

1st instance i was ATG, was moving along when it happened so carried on moving but was unable to change direction. Could not use joystick or keyboard controls to switch crew position or anything.

2nd instance i was infantry, i had just hit autowalk and was unable to stop or change direction.

I have absolutely no idea how this happened, the only thing i could do was to use task manager to close the game. When i get back into game, all on screen text bar etc need to be reset, this couldn't be done before restarting.

I can't think of any other relevant info, no changes have been made to my game or system recently, with the exception of installing beta about a week ago. There seemed to be no sign of CTHL. In one instance i had my second account logged in, but it wasn't affected. 2nd time just my main account.

Any ideas??

You didn't by chance hit ctrl+y... no that wouldn't make controls go funky.

No, that was the first thing i thought of, hitting ctrl+y wouldn't bring anything back until i restarted the game.

I played for several hours last night and it hasn't happened since, which is a good job because i have no idea how to stop it lol.

I can replicate the result, but this is pretty convoluted, so I doubt this is what happened.

1. CTRL-Y to hide hud

2. Enter brings up local chat

3. ESC closes chat box, but still accepts input to chat.

So while the chat is hidden, you can mash all the keys you want and not get a response. Hit enter, then Ctrl-Y to get back to normal.

Doing that you would still be able to hit escape to despawn(i pressed it several times) and should be able to use joystick to switch crew positions in the case of ATG.

No big deal anyway as it only happened one day, just found it odd.

at a guess: you pulled your computer box out to change something and loosened the joystick and keyboard cords. Try pushing all cords back in tight. One loose fitting there can cause wacky inputs and loss of controls.
