Registry look up. No registry found for this game.. Then the launcher closes.

Reinstalled multiple times.

Checked registry, there are no keys.

Removed game in windows programs list.

Use ccleaner.

What's the problem? :@

FOR ANYONE GETTING THIS ERROR...

This should be the solution for you.. (It's sad that reinstalling doesn't fix the registry error.)

Here's the download if you need default registry values.

Here's a photo of the registry. Make sure that "path" points to the correct location.

Located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Playnet\apps\appid1\instance1

If you can't find it, press control-f and type in Playnet. Press F3 to find the next result if necessary.

Sorry about the G:\ in the photo. I took this screenshot After setting up my ramdisk.

Actually, still need help. The above fix works ONLY if you originally installed to default location, and are reinstalling to default location, on vista/7.

I am trying to install to a New location (different drive.)

CRS:

I ran ccleaner, then I manually deleted every registry key/folder related to this game with wwii, ww2, crs, playgate, playnet, or europe in it.

It STILL doesn't work. It only works if I install to default location again.

Which freaking key is screwing with me?

If you are on VISTA/Win7, are you installing it with Full Admin Rights?

(Right click install file, and do "Run as Administrator").

You may also find setting playgate.exe to always run as Administrator is necessary - depending how your machine is setup - when the game patches (not a problem at the moment, I think).

Hyo, where is the game installed? If it's under program files try installing to a non-secure directory c:\games\WWIIOL ect. sometimes win 7 can get a bit touch about stuff in the protected "program files".

Branko, it should be:

UAC is disabled, and only 1 user. (win 7)

Just worth giving it a go. Haven't seen any other reports of Registry Errors on here, so if you are the only one it is either a bad download file (unlikely, seen as you downloaded more than once?) or something on your machine ... And if entries aren't being set in the registry then permissions is the easy thing to guess at.

Give it a go and see what happens.

Check the sticky in the Windows Support Forum. Could be loads of things. gfx drivers, sound drivers, firewall, gfx card selected ... There's lots of potential causes so have a look through the sticky and see what might match.

Nope never seen a registry install error. It's pretty straight forward script. There's a deeper issue here than the installer.
