fyi on FPS drop

It seems clear that the FPS drop is related to the infantry models. I was averaging 12-15 fps in Dinant and Spontin during heavy fighting tonight.

Reduced the infantry LOD to 1/2 and suddenly I was back to a stable 30 or 60 w/ vsync.

Thanks for the report. I'm talking to the coders about this. If you get any more clues please pass them along here.

How did you change the LOD? and what exactly is that. I have expierance FPS drops also as infantry still playable but less than pre patch.

IN your settings under "Infantry" there is a slider for Level of Detail (LOD) - slide it to half and you will see an amazing performance boost.

Also reducing the amount of corpses made a huge difference for me.

To be clear: I had max settings on EVERYTHING for 1.33 and never dropped below v-sync stable 30fps on this rig.

My FPS seems to be down across the board. I turned down the inf LOD settings and corpse level but that only helped marginally. Like mckitty, I was able to run 1.33 at max detail with 2 accounts on the same machine with a stable frame rate.

I'm hitting 54-65 FPS but for some reason i keep freezing up-happened with Inf, Armor and Air, so type didn't seem to matter. I will try your solution, reducing detail, with high hopes. Muzzle flash seems to keep me alive longer, so i'm not cutting that no matter what, but the other stuff will prb make a Big diff-tks for the adv.:)

Run a bench test for me.

  • launch offline
  • type ".benchremagen"
  • spawn
  • record fps
  • type ".benchinfantry"
  • record fps

Do this on "performance" and "quality" settings.

Whatever it was, it stopped-Very nice work CRS! there's some lag left, but i don't know of any real time game that doesn't have lag, so it's Greatly Appreciated.

had a couple CTD's, but i think it was the server shutting down so things could be fixed....no warning, though..We'll find out.

Have a good one!
