Yep, climbing should be near the top now that server, mac and most CTD issues are nearly solved. Also, still can't run into the hole in the wall of a rubbled CP like before. Lets get this climbing / crawling fixed.

*cough cough

River banks?

Nobody mentioned having to swim 2-300M away from the bridges to climb up out of the rivers?

In some places, you start clipping into the terrain and your gun goes into the "I'm walking or standing" position, but when you slide back a little, you're swimming again.

It's kind of frustrating to have to swim all the way down 2-300M to try and climb out and THEN sneak up to a camping Church 7.

With so many towns with bridges, and so often the bridges get blown, I'd like to think that infantry can get up the bank on the other side after swimming for 5 minutes to get across.

It's another slope issue. Too steep.

Noticed this too. Cant climb up onto any of the blown up buildings roofs except the ones where the roof connects to the top floor. Also, in verdun or sedan, cant remember, I couldnt even climb up the side of the river. Quite frustrating.

I can totally understand not allowing players to climb the skinny side of walls on buildings that have blown. That's just hinky.

Being able to climb the riverbanks is kind of important though, same goes for the little white churches. Those churches are good hiding spots.

Do you suppose that in a situation where half a building is blown away, and there are wall supports, and ceiling beams laying about taht you could not get up to that next level if you wanted to?

There's nothing hinky about being able to crawl up into an attic, or 3rd story area.

Now, the free standing wall sections that have no remaining 2nd- or 3rd-floor or roof sections attached, those I agree shouldn't be climbable. No one would actually climb an 8" wide wall fragment that didn't lead anywhere except to an 8" wide top-of-that-wall.

Ya know, at first Romsburg, you rubbed me the wrong way and I wasn't a fan. But over the past 12 months, you have really grown on me. You're precise, well spoken and although you are sometimes a little harsh, you are most often correct and in proper context with your responses.

If you're going to argue with Romz, do your homework before you post. He gets it, and you can't teach common sense, you have to be born with it.

I can't say [any]thing else [than] that the ban was justified considering that you have an 'impressive' TOS history....

There is no spoon.

This isn't a question of what you should be able to do in real life it is a question of the infantry collider interacting with the terrain.

Those are exactly the walls I mean. The free standing ones.

Gophur, thanks for the spoon nod. Will we be able to climb again one day?

I've been finding that often as infantry, you can no longer step over the little ledge to leave a gun emplacement through the front. I've seen this with both permanent and PPO emplacements, but it seems to vary from emplacement to emplacement.

Obviously this is extremely frustrating, especially under fire (cutting down your options for manoeuvre).

To reproduce: Try the north facing emplacement inside Niergnies Armybase in Cambrai. (But I have observed this elsewhere.)

I can go up a 45@ slope( rubble ) but any steeper I stop , also some of the roofs when prone on them you slide down.
