Black lines flashing across the screen

I'm not sure whats causing this but black lines flash on the screen occasionally no matter where I go or what I do. I would try to take a screenshot but it goes by so quickly. Anyone else having this problem?

Hope its not related to a certain computer component.

its as if theres some kind of message window which is visible for half a frame and then gone flashing through, at least thats what it seems like.

Happens to me too on 3 different rigs, 2 ati 1 nvidia, one wasn't up to date with drivers, but now they all are, and still have this occasionally.

same..newest Nvidia drivers installed. Certainly not a showstopper, but annoying.

It's either

a) video card related (so post 'em people)

or

a quick flashing dialog box

If it's b you should be able to see it briefly.

Is there any way to reproduce this. Need better description. Nothing here for me to go on.

It happens so quickly/briefly, you'd have to have a video clip running to see it. Again, not a show stopper, but happens quite often. FWIW, I have a nvidia gtx275, a pretty common card.

Uglyboys carefully crafted piece of Art shows it rather well...

Thats the most common black line flashing through. Once in a while there does seem to be something flashing through in the center of the screen also way to fast to capture which may be (remnants?) of a dialog box, the top of it at least it seems...

This might be related to the leader, origin etc. icons/tags I think that's what I saw as everything was loading in when I spawned in. Looked like the black flash zoomed across to where the 'leader' tag appeared in front of me.

I saw this a couple of times last night. Looks exactly like the photo uglyboy posted. I noticed it mostly when looking at trees 100-200m away, near where they meet the ground. Typically one flash and gone.
