Invisible EI problem needs addressing/comment by CRS

I am an admitted fan-boy of any non-corporate, independent game developer such as CRS. I am the first to give you guys the benefit of the doubt because I know you don't have the same resources that the big momma companies have. I also love the update, I love the new semi-auto rifles and I've found inf. play to be generally much more exciting than pre-update.

BUT, when there is a major, recurring problem across most of the playerbase, it needs to addressed and addressed quickly. I don't mean it needs to be fixed immediately, I mean someone from CRS needs to let the playerbase know it's a known issue and what they're going to do about it. As an Axis player, I just watched two towns get steam-rolled, most of the caps occurring with no visible EI inside the CP's OR bunkers. Many players confirmed this happening for them as well.

This is a rather big bug which is influencing play and the map. With so many players back on, willing to give CRS the benefit of the doubt as well, it would be a good idea to keep us updated when these things crop up. Otherwise, I fear people are going to log out and never log back in. A little bit of communication goes a long way!

Love you guys and I know you're working under tough conditions! I only bring this up because I think the longer such a big thing goes un-addressed, the more it will hurt our chances of getting higher pops again.

Yep, I'm seeing this too. In Fressennville, Gamaches and Evivermen this afternoon. CPs being capped but no ei in sight.

It's happening with friendlies too. Another player was doing $here calls on the CP I was in yet I could not see him nor was he on my map anywhere.

Another time, I could see a squad member on my map and area chat with him, but not see him - but he could see me. It went on for 5 or 6 minutes before he suddenly appeared.

There seems to be selective invisibility. In Evivermen, I ran into a cp and saw a friendly inf and ei right next to each other but unable to see one another. The ei saw me and killed me.

It's kind of weird.

Vis limit gameplay limitations... this game (and its server hardware) never could handle large player populations.

I hate to say that... but that's the truth. We all want more players here but then when that does occur... the game hardware can't handle it. :rolleyes:

Just "witnessed" Lumbres AB bunker being capped in about 2 minutes by 2 visible ei. Where was the rest? To be fair, many of the attacking EI couldn't see me either, I could kill them without any problem while they were standing right in front of me.

Is it just a vis limit thing? I haven't noticed these phantom deaths before, even in high pop.

Then again, it's been a while since poor framerates made me switch to low setting.

Yes there are reports of invisible infantry. We are aware. No it is not a vis limit issue. It is a host issue. We are working on it.

This was mostly seen this weekend after a big battle would finish and players would log off. The host was getting in a funk after that.

I think this happen on 1.33 also.

There was one instance that I spawn on a cp building went to the roof and looked at a house that was blown up an EI shot something and it appear on my screen(he was less than 40m from me), he was not drawing in my game before opening fire. On the same city, same day and time I got killed and saw no EI killing me but after respawning right after being killed I would find the EI on a place where I had previous view and had checked.

This only happen from time to time might have been all the same player.

True but what I think this thread is talking about is a massive uptick in this the other night concentrated in the time right after a lot of population logged off.

This is a specific incident that is a new phenomena but it also isn't very wide spread. These kinds of things are pretty easily spotted from the .reports log.

It IS wide spread. So are the inf we shoot but dont die. This inf just stands there after we see 20 blood splatters and run by it assuming hes dead only to be killed by him. The dead sliding on ice happens more often than not. Right now we cant even get into the game....whats up?

Oh, i forgot the EA I saw today that went straight down like an elevator..FLAT! Not nose down but wings level, nose on horizon all the way down before it flew away again...
