Maybe I should mention that I was running media player and FRAPS in the background. My antivirus proggie was disabled and browser was not running.

Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit. I am going to switch to VLC media player, I don't remember having problems with that running in the background. Here is some good music for you while you are spending time chasing down those pesky bugs. If I lived in Texas I would probably send pizzas and beer, but since I don't, a song will have to do.

I'm pretty sure media player was the culprit on my rig. I've been playing awhile today using VLC media player, and no problems.

Don't know about your offline troubles but that was the chat host crashing it looks like.

What was media player doing? Streaming? Which media player, want to recreate.

Hi man, thank you for reading this thread!

When I installed Win 7 64 I didn't do an upgrade for Ms media player, I'm pretty sure I still have the 32 bit version.

I wasn't streaming, but listening to mp3's from the hard drive.

The reason I think it was MS media player is because I have problems replaying movies that I make with FRAPS using the Ms program; VLC media player replays things correctly but Ms media player does not.

If I comprehend correctly, Ms media player uses a connection to the net while it's running, from time to time. I still haven't got my rig set correctly because I occasionally get Bsod's once in awhile, no clue why.

But the only time I have had ctd's is while using Microsoft's media player, and I just sort of assumed that something to do with that program is affecting other things in my system.

I wish I could be more helpful about replicating stuff, but that's pretty much all I observed. Thank you again for reading the thread.

P.S. If CRS has a paypal email addy I'd be happy to throw some resources into the kitty, providing they were only used for pizzas and beer. I can imagine how hard you guys have been working for the past couple of weeks to get things in order and sometimes the old solutions are the best ones. No worries, remember the worst bugs are always in the last place you look, just like socks. I'm off to get killed learning to move on the ground with my Mp40.

Hehe. Thanks but reporting these issues is a huge help already. I have a sneaking suspicion you're right about ms player.

I ran with it on my Win7 rig yesterday and it eventually locked up my computer. Though I do tax it a bit

Thunderbird

Firefox ~50-100 tabs

WWIIOL

Notepad ++

Xchat

God knows what else.

You might try and upgrade the MS Player through MS site. Should do.
