New Error - Game Hangs Up on Start

Had this issue before re-downloading and reinstalling:

Start the game, log in, game loading screen Initializing Objects progress bar comes up... (the one with the version displayed in lower left)

Game loading hangs while under the "Getting Host Data" mode and then will minimize and kick me to the desktop. I then have to use task manager to kill the ww.exe process.

If it ever makes it past the "Getting Host Data" then I can get to the brigade and player selection screens.

Another issue is that of no longer being able to see data of map marks when hovering cursor over the map marks. Yes, I have double checked to make sure all HUD and MINI MAP selections are enabled.

It sounds like your having some connection issues at your end and/or your ISP.

The first hops on your traceroutes are erratic and not great. Check your hardware connections are all seated properly.

If you're using a wireless connection - don't.

If your connection is shared with someone else, try it without sharing.

Any file sharing software, shared photo folders, or that kind of thing: turn them off.

If you have pending software updates, like java or adobe, or anything else that likes to tell you when there is an update available - do them.

Disable everything else net active when trying to run the game.

Try the game offline to make sure it works in that situation.

Make sure the following ports are open for the game:

TCP: 27015 through 27021

UDP: 27015 through 27021
