Map Host(40110)

keep getting knocked of the server with the following error msg.

Map Host(40110): Session closed by host (no session): This can happen if your connection to the host has been reset to many times or if the server has been restarted. You wil need to restart game client to continue to play.

This is rather frustrating as I am also getting the 126 error a lot still. Has this anything to do with the fact that I am using a WiFi hookup instead of being hardwired to the net?

Can't hard wire to test. I am totally mobile as I live full time in my Motor Home. I have mini tower setup in tight to get at spot. I am using a Verizon Mifi and have a reasonably reliable connection. I tried running the trace but I get error 404 site not available when I launch it. Sys specs are as follows:

Win 7 64 bit

i7 2600 sandybridge

8 gig mem

gts 550ti video card

Tool works great.

"Verizon Mifi"

Ooooh. I have no experience with that but I would doubt that it has latency good enough for online play.

"Map Host(40110): Session closed by host (no session): This can happen if your connection to the host has been reset to many times or if the server has been restarted. You wil need to restart game client to continue to play."

Ah yes. It says it right there. The host does not like you timing out and so instead of leaving you warping all over the game world it kicks you out.

Since you must be one of the coolest people in the universe living on the road and playing WWIIOL I'm going to see if the host guys have any ideas about how to improve this for ya.

Thank you much appreciated, but the bad news is that I have been playing with the MiFi for the past several years and never had this problem until this last upgrade, then my gaming world (which consists of 99% WWII Online) has gone into the tank. I get frustrated and then my wife gets frustrated at me for yelling and b*itching about the game dumping me. Sure hate to see you lose your WiFi subscribers as I am sure I am not alone with this problem. Normally when I am playing my ping is around 120-150 and kbps in is 3.0 to 3.5 and kbps out is 1.0 to 1.5. Don't know if that info is pertinent or not but there it is.

Makes sense. We dropped non broadband support which means we increased the amount of data sent and received. It's probably stressing your connection and your getting kicks. Maybe bloo or oliver can help with some ideas.

One of the things they'll likely suggest is to make sure there is no other network applications running. Especially java or adobe updaters and the like.

simply stated, the record you have amassed in the past in terms of reliable game connections is no longer relevant to todays connection, as the change to "no longer support broadband" does in fact mean we place much more demand on the packets you are getting now, than previously.

thus, your latency with mifi might well have qualified you for play in the past but that cannot guarrentee that it will in the future due to changes like this, "I have never had a problem before" is only relevant if the connection process is unchanged, and it isn't

the good news is that Gophur indicated to you that we will try to see if this cannot be improved

I only wanted to be sure you understood the problem and why the past should not form your expectations of the future, despite the fact that we humans naturally tend to let it do just that

I understand why I am having the problem, part of my post was to point out that the people that do not have access to "hard wired" connections are now in jeopardy of not being able to play anymore. I downloaded the new patch last nite and play for a couple of hours. I was able to play and stay in the game, however, I experienced several lockups of approx. 30 sec to 1 min while the system reconnected me to the host. I can live with this and still game to my hearts content and look toward hoping that Gophur and company can make an improvement. Until that time I will plod along cursing, ranting and ducking as my wife beats me for being so vocal and grouchy about a silly game. :0

OK did some quick research on net connections and this is what I came up with. A lot of which are defined as broadband. Tell me which ones the game will support.

ISDN 64-128 kbps

B-ISDN data rate not listed

DSL data rates not listed

ADSL 1.5-9 mbps (broadband)

ADSL-2 listed as faster than ADSL (broadband)

SDSL more common in Europe, 3 mbps

VDSL 128 kbps-8 mbps

cable 512kbps-20 mbps (broadband)

T-1 lines 1.5 mbps

Bonded T-1 3 mbps

T-3 43-45 mbps

OC3 155.2 mbps

Satellite 492-512 kbps

If your not supporting "broadband" anymore then you have eliminated several of these types of service from accessing your gaming world.

The batch file Gophur linked is just traceroutes. Won't work by default for XP.

Start -> Run -> Cmd

tracert -d 66.28.224.141

tracert -d 209.144.109.141

OK now after the latest small update I played 3 hours last nite with no glitches or errors. :0

Oli did make a few tweaks on the host. Loosened the noose a bit. How you holding up?

Hi,

this error keeps happening to me also, i'm hard wired and have broadband. It happens every time for me every 30 minutes. Would a screenshot be helpful or is this failure understood already?

thanks.
