Load in times x3 x4 greater with 1.34 than 1.33, especially when relocating between areas. Really annoying feature from patch from hell.

Was going to open a new topic about this...

The first loading time is always fast to me but the following loading times when spawning sometimes goes over 30+ seconds and sometimes the game crashes when this increase spawn time happens.

This is not associated with heavy battles I had this happen to me on very small scale or even with no enemies and it took more than 30 seconds and would crash before spawning.

This happens on 2 pc's and a laptop so probably is about the game and not hardware.

Load times for me are same as ever except when I change to a new brigade. Then I usually get a 60+ second load time, but not every time.

Why does this need to be addressed? We now process more world update states upon load. This addresses several issues and is a requirement of the new host architecture?

I expect it to be improved but I don;t give this any priority. Should I? Why?

It certainly impacts some level of game play. Quick defensive reactions are not so quick after all. The same for offensive spawnables-Quick spawn! Oh, not so quick after all.

That may be less of a problem (certainly, manageable) than the CTD that happens often after hanging for longer than normal. To me, that should be addressed.

While I'm at it, and having your eyes-stats are broken, not recording kills for infantry. I had 50 plus infantry kills Saturday within one or two hours. I was not able to see who I killed, only who I was killed by at the stats page. Also, under 'enemies' it didn't show a killer.

K/D was impacted negatively (every time you died, it hurt you) but your kills never impacted your K/D positively.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

Longer load times OK but about 25% of the time I have a CTD. That needs to be fixed!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that when it's taking a long time to load, you lose connection to the chat server.

I mean, I seem to have missed sections of a conversation when spawning in and getting a 75 second load time. I always thought that anything typed whilst it was loading would all appear at once, but it just seems to skip it. Not sure if this is a problem or if it's always been like this but just never a problem before because of the faster load times.

If it takes longer to load, up to 30+ secs, then can we do away with SD now? Seems like a double penalty here if there is nothing to be fixed as far as loading times go. Add to that the "enter world" button bug where you sometimes have to click it 2-3 times before entering with up to 15 secs before you can click it again each time and SD is now redundant.

I have very few CTD's. While I understand the increased load time, something on this process for the first time after changing brigades will occasionally cause the game to freeze up on me, where I then have to go to process explorer and fry it. It starts taking up huge chunks of memory and proceeds to lockup one of my processor cores. It has crashed of its own intent at times.

This is not normal ...

I load game normally for 15secs or less, after a couple of loads it gets stuck on 30-60secs and usually freeze or crash when it gets to this point.

There is no connection between loading time or terrain or amount of lag due to players.

Has mention early this seems to happen when changing location not sure but I haven't test it.

I just know last time I play got to the third 3rd sortie the game crashed after this load time.

Very important bug to fix.

Example:

1.33 - Ews triggers in town signalling a FB Hot drop - Able to despawn and be ready at FB for attack

1.34 - By the time I am able to spawn at FB - FB already down with sappers loading back on truck.

The longer delay=CTD doesn't apear to be happening as much, that was the biggest problem i had with this.

But. It seems to me that perhaps something isn't working completely correctly....

Something you might want to test to see if you think it's 'normal'...

Using 2 accounts both fresh log-ins:

Spawn 1 north...short delay, 2-3 secs for me

Spawn 2 south...short delay 2-3s

spawn 1 south....long delay 20-30 secs

So although the first login that obviously has to load alot is very quick, when moving to another area the delay is significantly longer. Despite the fact that loading a 2nd persona on the same machine in a different area does not take long at all.

Yeah I've experienced something similar. It will take 10-15 seconds to load but only when I'm switching to a very different part of the map, or I guess a very populated battle. After I die or despawn for the next sortie the load time is quicker.

I'm actually reading the messages now; before they just blinked past. It hasn't really affect my gameplay at this point.

That reminds me of another point...

When spawning in, you miss any text while you are waiting. ie upon spawning, what you would have seen if not respawning is not there. Very annoying when you are in HC particularly.

Are you seriuos, GOPHUR?

The cell network connect code is a very possible cause of probably ALL bugs we see now. And if I understand correctly "connecting" is the reason for the delay.

Before latest patch it caused CTDs (bug #6120)

And in this latest patch (1.34.7) it causes the bug #6202, and maybe even #6209.

Even if more states are loaded I would at least want to "see" the states load, somehow, at least until the current bugs in this "alpha client" are squashed.

Understand me correctly: I understand how cool the new network code is, and what will be possible on the road ahead. Really cool stuff! But this more complex network code needs easier ways for us to debug and report.

If you want us player to wait to get into arena we already have that feature: It is called "spawn delay"

If during this long spawn in waiting time I go to program manager it tells me that ww2ol is not responding but with a long enough wait it eventually spawns me in.:confused:

I played last night and have been giving more attention to this.

- First spawn takes me 5 secs or less

- When switching to another town there is a 80% chance that a long spawn happens.

- On my third spawn on a different town loading time was over 1min and there was no loading screen, I had the screen all black with fps and network window(it was stop and not updating) the game looked to be not responding but eventually it spawned after a long time waiting.

- On my forth spawn I click to enter world the game crashed.

I think something is not working here... please take a look at it.

plus 2 clicks to try to join in.....total 145 secs..not even funny. Its broke, need to be sorted out.

Yes, it needs to be addressed.

In a related thread, someone suggested going to the brigade list and following THAT route to switch brigades, but that doesn't help.

Gophur, you mentioned it may happen more when moving from one area of the map to another farther away being a factor, but it seems to be more related to switching from tanks/air/atgs to infantry.

I spawned out of a tank into an SMG in the SAME brigade last night and had the same thing happen. I later went to take a bomber out for support on that AB, (Caudry,) and C'd to D.

Spawn delay PLUS staring at a loading screen is really a pain in the buttocks.

It effectively adds another minute to a minute and a half to the existing SD, and you have to wonder if you're ever even going to spawn in at all. You may just end up looking at your desktop instead.

This is going to be a bigger problem when scenario play gets rolling, if it's a server synching issue.
