Was anyone able to spawn from it?

If you can give me a step by step replication method I can find the cause and fix it probably. I have to be able to replicate it.

This has been around as long as I have been playing. Sometimes when you create missions from certain ABs to, say, an FB too far away, it will let you create the mission, drive all the way out there, build the FRU, and then delete it as soon as it's built.

It would be nice if it just didn't let you make the mission, or gave an error message when building the FRU, but I'm not sure this is actually a bug. And it has happened to me at least a few times too.

due to the complex degree and variety of criteria that can make a mission type invalid, it can happen that you waste your time making a mission you didn't know was invalid :(

I want a list of all these types of ways this can happen and then I'll put those to the coders to make it so you know beforehand, if we can't make them not able to be made in the first place

NO NO. Not the backdoor FB not permitted feature... (i.e. ruleset forbids this but gives no warning):

But -

This is a BUG.

I cannot replicate by any predictable means. Mission looks normal. Everything *looks* normal. But you cannot post Orders, Waypoints, FRU's or be seen by other players as an icon on the mini-map:

says "Submission Denied: Not on Mission"

even if you are Mission Leader and able to post mission orders - and you are just trying to report an enemy, or post a waypoint.

Interestingly - not all of these symptoms recur together, although sometimes they do. It happens *a lot*. Please read the .reports log - it is stuffed with these - and it is not rare.

Something to do with the "tweak" that keeps players from being dropped by the server (i.e. the long spawn in delays) is my speculative suspicion.

Same happened to me, but I was not in an opel. I walked 10+ mins from hasselt. Defensive fru, good distance. green FRU marker, but no FRU appears when built.

  • 2 weeks later...

Happened to me again during the event (running a FRU from Spontin to Profondoville). This time it gave me a short message saying "FRU/MSP placement failed: No link between origin and target."

However, surely it would be better to just prohibit the target in the first place? Or maybe give a warning when creating mission that FRUs won't be able to be placed (since some people may still want to run truckloads of inf and/or guns out anyway).

I had one issue couple times by now where I do not know whether this is know yet. I was missionleader and wanted to reset an existing fru. I chose #9, see the fru graphic, it is green and I want to click so it is being set but nothing happening. This happend like half a dozen times so far but I do not have any idea how to replicate it.

When I gave the lead someone else, the player was able to set a fru. Taking lead again I again wasn't able to place the fru. The graphic was green but hammering my mouse button didnt bring the wanted to success. Nothing at all happened.

As I said, no clue how to replicate it as I got no clue what caused it.
