Mac - Connection Issues

Yesterday a new host was staged to live. We had hoped this would address the connection issue on the Mac. It appears to not have been a success so we'll continue to work on this.

I don't yet have any test feedback on the CTD when right clicking on the UI map but we're going into beta this week and will be looking for the fix.

If you have any additional information on the connection issue please post it here.

KFS1 has asked that those of you experiencing the issue do the following:

Please open a command prompt / console and enter the command:

Tried to Rt Click before logging for bed; immediate CTD with bus error. So, not fixed for me atm.

The right click CTD is only on the UI maps.

It only crashes when you right click on a friendly town and the join brigade dialog comes up.

Someone found a fix - client side - for this: http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=384208

RATs need to take a look, as the fix isn't something all MAC users are going to be able to perform.

Does appear to solve the issue, though ... Should be something that can be tweaked on the host and negate the client-side fix?

No I'm afraid they did not. I wish they had. We need community help onthis or the issue will not get fixed.

As I said in that thread we need more client machine info from everyone on the Mac.

Not all macs have this issue. None of the in house Macs have the issue. There will be a common thread and while it might be network related I sincerely doubt it.

My first suggestion is to report OS version. Second I'd remove all traces of the game and the beta and do a reinstall.

Hey all, possible clue or fix.

I just went to my user directory, then to Preferences and finally to ww2ol.

The directory had permission "everyone - No Access"

I also checked the file and directory IN ww2ol folder, the were both 'No Access'

Finally, I checked the files in the folder cfml same thing 'No Access'

I changed all the files and top folder 'ww2ol' so that 'everyone' had Read Only access.

I then tried to log in and got in first try. Now, maybe I got lucky, not sure; not going to quit atm to find out. But you all might check these file permissions.

I went ahead and quit and re tried it; didn't get in, I did get lucky. Don't think this is the cause; though I still think Read only is better than No Access.

Gophur get up to date, 10.5 isn't supported by yours anymore .

As for the clean install I tried it, didn't change anything.

I manually removed the Application, then the cache files located in Users/username/Library/Caches.

Had tried the prefs already earlier so i ruled that out.

There were some beta caches left which i deleted as well.

Now I might be missing a file somewhere but I rather searched well in the folders that could/should contain relevant files.
