I don't have this issue. Running 10.7.2, no betas currently installed. The only thing atypical about my setup is that I don't run my user account with administrator privileges, so when I patch wwiiol, I copy the bundle to my user directory, patch, remove the original bundle in the /Application folder, then copy the patched bundle from my user directory to the /Applications folder, authenticating as admin when asked by the system.

I tried this now without luck, still missing connection.

-deleted game on my admin account with all cache files and preferences

-created non-admin account

-logged in on that account, installed ww2ol into home folder

-dropped it into applications where it asks to authenticate as admin

(for that matter you can actually launch the game from anywhere so that would not be necessary)

-launched game, same as before

Gopher,

Apparently something is missing from the last patch. Has someone done a check to see if that could be the case?

What about going back to the game launch before we had the patch.

I came back with the last "Welcome Back Solider" promotion and the game ran just fine. Then we had the Christmas patch and since then many of us can't get into the game.

???

Can't you just put debugger on, set break point right before it starts the connection routine, then step through it?

Or, even better maybe, since the only thing that happens is a splash screen is displayed then it goes into connect mode, delete all the other code after it, make a little 50k app that simples shows display screen, connects, then disconnects. Then debug that.

Come on, any programmer can do these basic checks. If you have to; right after splash screen comes up, put a small routine that says "IN XXX " in every call after that; and delay for 1 second; that way everyone can see what it is getting hung on and the routines it is making it through.

Honestly, a month and not debugged? Really, I can code and I know it doesn't take that long to step through a debugger and watch variables.

BEST, maybe have the program display way better error messages and codes, instead of just quitting back to desk top.

Yes, Gophur, Delems has it --- let us download a little test app that is only the login code with a ton of detailed error codes, debugging flags, logging data, etc., from which you can see what might be going wrong. The problem now is that those of us who are having the login issue have nothing to report back to you that you can use --- the traceroutes and system specs seem not to be providing any useful information. I'd be happy to try something like this. Otherwise --- like you say --- we're all just shooting in the dark.

This is now going on week 5. It needs a P1 for fixing.

I've tried connecting with the iMac, the MacBook Pro, and my Mac Pro.

Can you reset the game launch BEFORE we had the patch? In other words, eliminate the last patch? Surely, you've got it archived...

Jim

Open beta is already up (see sticky). If you want to speed up fixing this problem, please join the beta and report what you experience with reproduction steps if possible.

Thank you
