#2923 - [Mac] 1.34.8.3 Still Unable to create mission waypoints

Problem: Mission creator is unable to add multiple waypoints or waypoints with a label of more than one character.

These two symptoms may be caused by a single bug and have existed since 1.33.

In beta, I am no longer getting the "invalid submission" message but still can only post one waypoint of each type (same first character).

To create a waypoint I do the following:

1) create mission and spawn in as rifleman

2) open map

3) right-click on map at desired waypoint location

-waypoint/report dialog panel opens

4) click on "add waypoint"

-waypoint panel opens

5) enter label text and notes.

6) click on "ok"

Only the first character of the waypoint label is shown which maybe why only one waypoint of each type (same first character) is displayed.

For instance, the default "rally here" label of "R1" will be shown with the label "R". If I add a second waypoint "R2" then the first waypoint labelled "R" disappears and the second waypoint appears at the new location with a label "R".

If I label the a sequence of waypoints "A1","B2","C3" then I will get a sequence of waypoints "A","B","C"; i.e. only the first character of the label is shown.

No error message is being generated and nothing that appears relevant is showing in the log.

I hope that this is a little clearer.

any progress? its only been 3 years.

By the way, now on Mac I cannot create ANY waypoints. Submission Invalid. Prior to latest patch I could create waypoints with only one letter labels. Now, nothing.

Same here, however, if you keep trying, and use different combos; say aa, then bbb, then cccc, then back to aa; one of them eventually sticks.

So, it is possible to create waypoints, just a pain to do so.

Tried some combos and it the result for me was CTD. This needs to be looked into, now that there actually is a dev team at CRS.

With latest game update now I can not even post the Mortar Waypoint.

Yes, kinda disappointing.

I tried different words or letter combinations and it really seems random as to when it gets accepted or rejected and in some instances even crashes the game to desktop.

A pattern I have noticed. In order for a waypoint label to be accepted, and to avoid the submission invalid message one needs to type a label that is as long as the maximum accepted number of characters. When rendered, it will disregard every other character. For instance if one wants to put a rally point labeled MOMA he would have to type MxOxMxAx where x can be any character.

Perhaps this will help coders figure out whats wrong.
