Position bug

What are the chances of having this positional bug sorted? I will give you some instances of what I am talking about.

I'm in the bushes with an ATR. An ET is approaching, he stops, and shoots me. On my death cam, I can see that I was not in the bushes at all but about 5 foot to the right and standing in the open.

On another occasion, I ran out of a CP and here is an EI, suspended in mid air just outside a building. I fire but my bullet bounces off the wall, invisible to me be probaly the one the EI sees himself standing behind.

I'm standing behind a wall in the corner of a building and inexplainably I get shot. Again, on the death cam, it turns out i was standing by a window.

Lastly, at Mons defence last night, I lay next to a tiger and guide tankfire so that (acording to my perspective) the Tiger is hit repeated. However, as my colleagues are further off, to their eyes, the shots are missing wildly. The Tiger drives off undamaged.

There surely must be a way to iron out these bugs?

I think you're reporting unrelated things so let me go through them.

I have not seen this reported before ever. So on this I am unsure. I'll keep an eye out for reports. If you see it regularly please repost here and I'll see if we can do some metrics.

I've seen this reported but never quite that way. We call this the world origin offset bug. We haven't been able to reproduce it so we're kinda poking in the dark. When you see this please report it immediately.

Same as first. maybe this is same as second also. No one reported it that way. See http://discussions.playnet.com/showthread.php?t=379162 for more reports.

I don't THINK this is related. Where you see other peoples rounds land is not indicative of where the shooter sees them land and that is the only view that counts.

Faz, in both those offset big occurrences did you jump out of a spawn co or spend any time at all with the falling animation?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. No, when viewing the EI standing outside the upper floor of a building, I ran out of the door of the spawn and did not jump.

I have had the deathcam position change happen to me on several occasions, not just those specified in my text. I'm not sure how to prove it though, which I guess is the problem in finding a resoltion. I could take a screenshot if this is possible with the deathcam but this would only show me in the new position and not where I see myself in game.

Surely you have seen a player "in game" run through a wall 2-3ft right or left of a door? But in their eyes, they ran through the door. I feel the "not in the bushes" bug is related to this. It may also be the reason so many complain of clipping or being shot through walls. They are in fact standing by a window but don't know it.

It's a shame if the long range fire bug can't be fixed. It makes spotting impossible.

That's not a bug per se, it's always been like that because of how the game works. It actually got a lot more accurate than it used to be in a recent patch (1.32/1.33?) thanks to some work by kfs1.
