RTB with aircraft with crits = still kill awarded

Flying tonight I lost my engine to an enemy airplane, managed to coast back to my airfield to get an RTB and yet a kill was still scored against me. Kill system must be bugged where an RTB with crits still reserves the unit.

You can RTB with a kill against you, just ask any tanker who has lost a gunner.

You get the full points for RTB but the unit I don't think is supposed to reserve.

Not relevant. This is airplane specific. Kill system is supposed to work differently for airplanes.

So RATS, you introduced the ability to get away with no killer with the bailing patch. Now that ability is gone again.

So let's just go back to the old kill system where crit's were awarded right after crit was taken.

Thank you.

Your engine is a critical component.....you lost it, and it is scored a kill. Always has been. Happens, to Infantry, happens, to vehicles, and happens to planes.

  • Bailing out pilots will be scored at the time of bailout
  • Pilots who bailout can only receive an MIA or a Rescued status
  • Kills will now be awarded for any damaged plane that does not RTB even if that damage is not critical as long as that damage was recent (maneuver or ditch kills)
  • Plane RTB is defined as being on the ground close to a friendly airfield
  • Planes that RTB will deny a kill score to the enemy even if critical damage was achieved
  • RTB planes will no longer explode on despawn due to critical damage

I have noticed this as well and reported it in a separate thread like the n00b i am. Anyhow here it goe s (Cpy Paste from the other thread):

============================================================

Just now I had a fight with 2 hurricanes. After my engine started to overheat I dove to my AF and as I got to within a few hundred meters my engine ceased. I still landed it but it recorded a killer.

A similar incident was reported in the hangar a few days ago by krsco iirc.

============================================================

I really believe this should be either ticketed, or if RATs changed the scoring system for planes we should be told about it.
