The other day in game I was engaged by an Allied smg. I ran to the church and took cover around the corner and waited to ambush him. The smg started firing well before he came around the corner. He kills me then I see him walk around the corner on death cam. What gives with this crap? That has happened several times and it gets really frigging old.

Is this a known game issue and can it be fixed?

I know this happens to me and my squadies all the time as allied with axis smgs and lmgs coming around the corner firing before they get around. The only way to defend against it is to be proactive and attack them. It's becoming more of a common practice for us to start firing before we enter a room now because we can get that extra "lag" jump on the enemy.

It's a bug that came about with 1.34 that unfortunately hasn't been fixed, known or not.

It is a pain in the but for Defending CPs which is now virtually impossible. Clearing a CP however is quite simple cause you will have the lag jump on any ei trying to defend.

Well, if that guy comes running in and you are stationary, his computer doesnt need updates to know where you are, so he is going to get a half second of free face time with you.

When you have to guard inside a cp, keep moving running up and down stairs, and through rooms, that way your lag and his lag give you both the same "advantage".

Don't let the lag-phags win, odds are when this happens to you the guy on the other end knows exactly what lame tactic he is using, counting on the lag.

I remember this being an issue quite a few patches ago CRS changed some type of rendering engine and EI were suddenly really warpy in a cp CQC situation. Usually giving the Attacker the advantage as they didn't render to the Defender at the same time. I think to fix this they rolled back, but I'm not sure. It was quite some time ago a year maybe two or three even.

The problem seems to be that enemy position packets arrive significantly later then damage dealt ones. Because you can really first die and then the shooter walks around the corner.

This shouldn't be so. Internet lag is understandable (you kill him, he kills you), but this is not.

This is really bad and hurting the gameplay 1.33 was not even near the state we currently have, on 1.33 was barely noticeable and I never seen in my live in 5 years a 15 secs kill!! ( the ei took so many hits and kept running and shooting that I report him has an invincible soldier).

I can always now have success rushing cps just by sprinting upstairs and killing the enemy before I'm even seen.

Just yesterday I was hit before even climbing an obstacle(by an ei over the obstacle) so there is also something wrong with the prediction system or its interpretation(lag) by the client.

All I know is it frigging sucks and really needs to be fixed. I think it robs us of actual urban combat. Using cover is a moot point in the game.
