Hi,

I have a 7970 graphics card, with latest drivers. WWII:OL doesn't render foliage correctly (seems like the transparent area of a polygon isn't rendered transparently, or something) - see screenshot. I've tried adjusting all settings any change (tried everything - took me hours).

I understand that the drivers aren't very mature yet, still I've had decent performance (and especially no issues like this) in other games.

See also the following thread, seems like someone else with the same card+drivers has the same problem.

http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=385101

This makes the game pretty much unplayable - apart from dogfights and RDP runs everything (everything on the ground + most bombing) suffers from foliage transparency problems.

Hoping for a solution. Thanks,

- hdeh

P.S.: Above linked thread contains DXDIAG output pastebin link and other general info on what's been tried.

Oh!

I better try and call AMD to see if they'll send me one. I'm too poor for that business. BUT given that it is a brand new card I'll bet a driver update fixes it.

Can you look at any other SpeedTree games and see if you still have the issue?

Weird, tried the beta driver 12.4., dident work, then reversed to 12.3. still doesent work.

Maybe I misjudged earlier, maybe the beta drivers did something.

Ill test the beta now with 12.3.

UPDATE:::

Deinstalled all amd drivers, reinstalled 12.3.

Works again on live server.

So, 12.3. works, no foilage bug, 12.4. beta does not and skews up foilage same way as 12.2.

Beta server is down, so no testing.

Beta should be open now for retesting.

Thanks for testing out the different drivers. That'll help some people out.

Try and remove all amd drivers and associated amd sotware from control panel. Then reinstall 12.3. I use 12.3. and it works fine with R7970.

Please test the beta.

Logged into beta 3 times, no missions up, and I cant post missions for some reason- not enough rank.

So, I cant test since I cant get into the world.

You might wanna keep up a few auto missions on beta.

The newest drivers from ATI/AMD are listed as 12.3 as were the drivers and control centers from the version before that.

If you have not done a clean reinstall of the newest released Cat control and drivers you are NOT using the latest drivers.

The new ones fix an issue with "SpeedTree" rendering (what controls a lot of things including the tree foliage).

Clean install is the key here. completely get rid of the old before you try to add the new.

It's a pain in the butt, but I've got over 21 hours going without a CTD or funky graphics issue. I was CTDing every 10-20 minutes at the outside now no crashes.

I don't have auto-mission but I will if we add squad mission back in.

Use ".setrank 12" to give yourself mission posting abilities.

I've had the same problem, I upgraded to version 12.4 and stopped working properly, I'm back to version 12.3.
