FEATURE REQUEST Eliminated - Friendly trucks and Guns Colisions

If I had to make a top list of the most annoying bugs/"features" this would be on the top 3.

Everytime I spawn a vehicle/gun there seems that colisions are turn off for friendlies in the first minutes but after atgs and trucks get the colisions it gets really annoying, especially if you are towing multiple atgs its nearly impossible to find the hitch point for a new atg, if they drop off and then need to get tow again it will be nearly impossible to get them all and it will take alot of time to do so.

This is also really frustating and can result in player death due to this game mechanic.

If this could be done I see no harm in taking out friendly trucks and guns colisions this would make the game feel and look less buggy for new players.

So is this possible to do While keeping friendly trucks/guns vs Enemy Gun/truck colisions?

Yes I'm not taking in account 1.34 bugs because they are new but this bug has been here at least since launch of Battleground europe and has annoy me ever since it also breaks teamwork and makes this game look really bad when I'm towing new players.

I'd love a top 10 list.

The bug here is that you're not supposed to tow more than one gun. I expect we don;t want to fix that but instead address the actual problem. Bonus points if you can spell the real problem out in 1 sentence.

The hitch "go/nogo" area is too small to easily hitch more than 1 gun to a truck.

I assume (from what I see) that there is a exagerated "you can hitch/you can't hitch" (go/nogo) area either on the truck or the guns.

Example, note the bofor jump forward to the truck hitch on hitting T key.

So there is already a "area of hitch" that looks to be a few feet in area. I'd try doubleing that go/nogo area as a starting point.

As Oldzeke said increasing the area to hitch guns especially to the sides would be easier and would finally fix this bug.

But ideally if every Gun would be given a one time tick to spawn a truck while already being on the game world it would look a lot more realistic and would make battles look bigger with more trucks per gun, it would also end the lack of trucks towing, give easier mobility to ATG/AA's and increase their impact on the battlefield.

If Oldzeke solution could be implement in the short term while always aiming to the last solution which would be ideally since it only improves the game ending many gameplay issues that have been here forever.

Given the state of towing (no coder has touched it for 10 years and no one wants to) I'd imagine that we'd be better off replacing it with another system like an MSP for guns.

It would eliminate the need for towing per se but would require a truck to place.

Thoughts?

Towing is one of the main enforced groupings needed in ground play.

Also, how much cash would go if people stopped buying second accounts for tows?

I wouldn't like MSP's for guns either - its one thing having infatry appear behind your attack line but atgs?

I think this would be a very bad development for gameplay.

A MSP for guns would be a great idea.

Very difficult as it is now to get a tow.

Also waiting at an FB for others to hook up is pretty much suicide while EA is about.

Towing was great for when we brought supply up from rear towns.

In todays game its impossible to get a towed gun out of a town under attack.

(The other day a squaddie was towing 6 or 7 guns and a single LMG out in the middle of no mans land took us all out)

Its also difficult to run 2 accounts on the same PC now a days.

Perhaps this MSP can only be set up a certain distance on attacks and defenses.

Also limit the amount of guns that can be spawned per MSP and the rate they spawn.

Also once a MSP is set its static and cant be moved.Once its destroyed thats it.

You could also charge a little more for an account that has the capability to set up a MSP capable of spawning guns.

For a few bucks more per month Id sure as hell pay.

I bet certain squads would even purchase new accounts for the squad to use, that had this feature.

Could generate more $$$ for CRS.

Its worth experimenting with it.

Keep towing ingame for those that want that feature and add this and charge a fee for those who would like to have this feature..

That's a really bad idea would break one of the strongest point of this game realism and content generation.

Why not do what I said?

Turn an atg on MSP with 1 truck ticket for every atg to control would be way more realistic and would be not as sneaky and would still keep.

Is it that hard to code a "truck-gun" vehicle sharing all crew members with the ability to hitch and unhitch the gun on a certain crew member position?

Thoughts??

I do not play air but I'm pretty sure shooting down a truck with guns just right outside a vehicle is fun :P and it's worth some players a few cents of their sub.
