your gravel kills performance

I've tried so many things in this game and by far the worst performance killer is your gravel from downed buildings. The game already performs worse than any other I've ever seen but when I get around gravel my fraps drop to single digits and I average maybe 7 fraps if I'm lucky. A heavy population in a close area, such as CP's is the second biggest killer of smooth game play. This is bad because you use small buildings as capture points so players are forced into the same small area as each other for close combat. Combine this with a big infantry lag and you get the worse infantry game play possible. The reason I post this is because this game is a combined arms game and infantry is the backbone of a game like that, even a real war for that matter. If it doesn't run smoothly for infantry, nothing else matters.

I'm not saying planes and tanks aren't important. I'm just saying if your infantry play continues to perform so badly your game will lose more than it ever recovers. I know the game developers are working hard and have a plan, but the longer it takes the more you lose.

A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week. George Patton

Have to say this is quite true and I do stay clear of ruined buildings for this reason.

Gophur - the downed buildings that are just shells with heaps of uneven debris. Yeah they do generate smoke a bit.
