Black screen clue

Been having problems with black screen crashes off and on for a few weeks now. Also crashes when using teamspeak.

Today I finally saw a message during the blackout.

"AMD display driver stopped working and has recovered."

I checked updates with catalyst control center and it said I was one version back. I'm up to date now and will see if the problem goes away.

So far so good. No more black screen, still the occasional CTD and IP errors.

Had a similar problem but with an NVidia card. Seems to have been fixed by opening the control panel, going to 3D settings, and setting the Physx processor to the GPU and not "auto" - (perhaps the AMD has something similar)

Well I couldn't find any particular setting so I put everything on default. Game ran stable for a couple hours tonight.

Just got another black screen crash in the campaign tonight.

Things to note:

1. Computer had been on for several hours before I logged into the game.

2. Got the IP error msg when first entering the game.

That's all I have for now.

Just rebooted the comp and logging back in. No more posts unless I have another black screen and notice anything useful.
