River banks - Nightmare from hell!

Is there anything in the development process that these are going to be fixed? Since I think it was about 1.31 the river banks seemed to be ''double layered'' which is causing a problem when climbing most* of the banks. When you try to climb one of the banks you see ''two layers'', proberly from the terrain update in 1.31 several years back. It's not cool, especially when you spend a number of mins doing the 100 IM across the river, and an EI laughs at you because you then can't climb the bank on the opposite side lol. I and some peers around me have noticed on some of the corners and towards the bridges, the banks are accessible and can be climbed, but as for the others that cannot. You have to swim longer to get to those bridges and corners etc. It would be good to see this fixed asap as it can be very fustrating for the players. I hope this can be added to the ticket list to be fixed, thanks.

I think they did it on purpose to make rivers more of a barrier, 1 infantry swims the river and deploys a whole army on the other side, I like it the way it is now, you can still do the above but you have to find the right spot.

You need to add moar ram.

It's most likely not a RAM problem lol, its a game bug/ issue that can only be fixed by the devs.

When they introduce the ''front line'' so FRU's can't be deployed beyond a certain mark, this will hopefully control the situation a bit more effectively. River banks still need fixing IMO - Regardless of the FRU problems.

Just look for verticle stripes on wall of river. Verticle means you cannot climb. EASY to work around.

True Geez but that's still not a good solution. I've been trying to get something done about this but I don;t have anything to report at present.

Nope way better like it is. No thanks to having one guy swim a river and deploy a brigades worth of inf on the other side.

Funny I actually thought this was done on purpose and its helping the river fights. Leave it like it is.

Agree to a point Erz but there needs to be some indication of where you can expect to cross a river and where you can't.

True. There is a lack of consistency with viable crossing points. Especially at the Bridgeheads. We are on the river for a good portion of the map currently. Anything I could possibly look for along these towns that could help?

Hopefully you guys can keep crossings limited to certin areas. Again, personally I feel it really has helped the river fights.

While we are on the subject. It got me thinkin(I know, go ahead say it).

Is it possible to have more ruble from the bridges laying acroos the water, giving infantry a definite crossing point. Just enough for inf to walk across and scurry up the bank

The give= Infantry can still cross the river INcluding ML'ers of course, plus not speaking realistically but game play wise, it could just feel better.

The take= The defender knows where your x'ing. Could make for some interesting fights to establish control of the bridge heads.

Not sure how this new front that was talked about is gonna work, but hopefully talks of river crossings are included.

Thnx GOPH,

S!
