Apparently it is acceptably correct to not use an "e" in the plural expression of "hero" ... ie: both methods are correct. I was surprized because I always used an "e" thinking that to be de riguer.

The only acceptable "heros" is Hero's to show ownership. My source is the Australian Macquarie Dictionary.

Heroes is correct when referring to people; heros without the e is for the sandwiches.
