R-35 bug

The R-35's main gun's max elevation is incorrect.

From everything I've read, it should have the same max elevation as the h-39's main gun, yet it has about 60% of it.

the r35 turret elevation hasnt changed, and has been that way since inception. ITs no bug. Not sure on how accurate it is, but since it was part of the original set, i bet its right

Well, bug isn't the correct word, I know it's been like this.

Modeled incorrectly said should I :P

Just because it's been this way from the beginning doesn't mean it's right, m8. The 2lber had the wrong rate of fire from the get go, the pak36 the wrong sight magnification, etc.

Pachy had also posted something like this, I think in the motor pool, YEARS ago though.

CRS were extra realism try-hards back in the day, they figured since r35 has such a small turret that the gun would not be able to elevate all the way up because the breach would be hitting the gunners or commanders legs. So CRS really went the extra mile on that. *scarcastic applause*

I'd need you to provide a bit more research verification for me to look at changes. They are easy enough to do in the data. Currently the R35 elevation is set to... *rumages through the data* Aww crap. That must be in the model file. All I have readily available is the traverse and elevate rates.

*grumbles*

Still interesting. What makes you think the elevation is incorrect? I'm pretty sure it isn't because it interfered with the gunner knees. Hehe.

Well I know that the r35 turret was very small and for 2 guys to be in there it would be very cramped, the gun would not be able to elevate all the way unless the gunner would like his knees to be pulverized by the guns recoil.

I vaguely remember someone mentioning this issue years ago, but haven't verified myself to be honest.

FWIW the elevation data -16°/+20° apparently:
