I got the welcome back promo email. Logged into my old account fine (Start->Programs->Cornered Rat Software->Battleground Europe->Play Online). It says campaign open and ready to play. I press Play!; I sometimes get the old t:0 Error ip 66.28.224.240, port 27015, state 20001 message in a window titled "Playgate (Battleground Europe Launcher)" I click OK and then nothing, the launcher just closes and leaves no tasks running. Sometimes I don't get any such window and the launcher just closes without launching.

Windows XP Pro 32 bit SP3. Radeon HD 6850.

Try starting in offline mode. If that doesn't work you might have to change resolutions in the settings in the CRS folder in the start menu. Some resolutions produce strange results when launching.

Also what kind of output are you using (HDMI etc...)?

I know about the Windows XP .net framework thing because it solved my problem. Most people have a newer operating system with the .net framework preinstalled and CRS does not even mention that its necessary on any of their documentation. Trust me you need it for XP.

This reminded me that I had changed desktop resolution since last time I played so I decided to reset it and noticed that it was at 800x600 which reminded me that I had changed my video card as well since the last time I played. Set game resolution in setting to match what my desktop was at and it launched first try np and was able to play :-)
