Yeah Wiretap died. i mean the box literally died. We have some back up code but the original coder is out of the loop. We're working on a replacement for it. We'll also be trying to add more stats to it so that players have access to a lot more stuff.

damn.. :/

it was cool thing because it was finnish as i am finnish too :DD but i remember the old map what was on the homepage 2 years ago, i liked the AO arrows there, it was very good map, only needed more stats and more dynamic map :)

so, if CRS is making new map to website, it would be awesome!

So remove the map and the links to wiretap and BEGM from the homepage until something is up and running again. (Maybe just a big static image to make it known just how big the game world is?)

It looks bad and I bet that it doesn't get you more paying customers when the f2p players thinking of paying discover things that simply doesn't work.

Hello, I'm back. I will be working on a new javascript based map once we get some data out of the system. Wiretap is dead but I'm planning on getting a database update on a regular basis with enough data to build a nice scalable map. Once I have that data and the basics running you will be able to see/comment/complain etc.

The map should be embeddable into any webpage and the exported data it will use will be available as well as a json file(s) (no more evil xml) if you want to do your own thing. What it likely won't be is as much info as wiretap had, certainly the first version will be pretty basic.

Features I hope to do in rough order:

Javascript with canvas, driven by jsonp data

City name, location, links, AF/Dox (static data)

Ownership, AO, contested (live)

Details like brigades, etc (live)

History of last N updates (live)

Vector background map image

If anyone cares, the server will be running node.js and content will live in redis.

After being out for 2 years I'm playing again but anonymously :-)

Gadget is restoring the wiretap backup. BUT Wulf will probably rewrite the whole thing in time. He'll post more on that as he has progress.
