--------------------------------------------------------------------------

so... basicly, some players have FPS like 70 - 100, some 10 - 40... and im in middle of those two...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

so... my suqqestion is: could you bring new-old graphics settings options for players who does not have as good computer as needed to run smoothly, and who do not need "good graphics"?

so basicly, it could look a bit like 1.28 version`s graphics or something like that, at least they should make the increase FPS at least 2x times, so everyone could play this game!? i think this is very good and important thing,

it makes me little sad because i cant play this game anymore very good in cities or forests because huge FPS drop (from 50 - 60 to 20 FPS) :(

i know it can cause some problems, so im not sure but i think it must be added those old textures to the current version which would be activated when players put some "for older PC" graphics settings?? could this be a big problem??

i WANT some answers plz! :D this is something i want to bring in this game for those poor people who cant play this anymore or new players would like to play this! this is something very important in my opinion!!

S! Tomppeli2k, i hope this would not be a big problem, thanks CRS and new coders!

In settings, click "best performance". If you're an advanced user you can go through the settings manually. This should help. If not post up your pc specs and we'll see where the bottleneck is.

And have a look at BLOO's how to increse fps thread - few very good options in there. http://discussions.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=386628

no no... i did not mean this... i have already "best performance" settings... but fps is from 60 to 30 but in air its good enough...

btw... still cant fight in woods because FPS will drop even lower and makes my mouse lag too much :(

i really mean REAL FPS improves by graphics settings for people who CANT run good in lowest settings...

The best performance you can achieve at this time is setting your graphics to "best performance," updating your video card drivers and consulting community members for tips on how to tweak and improve your games overall performance.

As we're warming up the development machine that means we can do things to improve game performance as we are able to solve them.

As Xoom said update your drivers. That's very often a big prob with fps.

Also, depending on you system hardware, try playing around with antialiasing settings in your vid card settings. Some rigs will actualy see more fps with AA on at 8x.

As a benchmark start wwiiol on offline, there's a offline or practice link in your programs/crs.

While in offline mode open the chat bar and type /benchremagen

Hit enter key.

Now select a infantry type and click enter world.

You should spawn a "fixed camera" at remagen, static reproducible view.

After a minute note fps.

Now while still spawned, open chat and type /benchinfantry

Hit enter key.

Static clones will appear, after a minute note fps.

Alternately you can use /benchantwerp

These give you a baseline benchmark to see if setting changes help or hurt fps.

There is also a /benchvehicles command. The inf and veh commands only work while spawned using the /benchremagen or /benchantwerp.

This only works offline

I understand now, while it's a good suggestion I don't think it's an appropriate option.

To add an option for people with less memory and older pc's means people with modern systems will suffer. For the game to progress and update without being swept under a rug where nothing gets updated so older machines can still play means that requirements to play the game need to modernize to run these updates, unfortunately for some.

I don't believe it's as simple as say for example - adding an option to "load old tree models" or "use old graphics". I may not be 100% accurate in this but we've moved away from using the older, outdated models and newer modern models have been created, which are seen as totally new and different objects by the game, so it's not possible for the server to load 2 different models which are supposed to be in the same place - an old tree for older settings and a new tree for modern settings as an example.

The specs recommended to play this game are on par with specs required to play other modern games. The reason we ask for your system specs is to know where the issue is for you particularly.

but... that wouldnt cost anything, except coding maybe? just take old graphics and TRY if that works, maybe some very talented coder could get it work good with 2 different textures/models in same server??

I don't think you have any idea how this works, dear.

A back-forth graphics, example, Halo 1 Anniversary, would require a TON of manhours, and, if anything, would be less runnable then the current version, because you'd need to have both engines installed(Or more clusterfarking management from having 2 clients)

Not to mention the clusterfark of making sure things work on both graphics models/engines.

Overall, unless you have a million dollars for it, not going to happen.
