Are you having this issue using the latest build 1.34.10.6?

Was not aware of a new build released yet as I am still running 1.34.10.5

I have had some sound issues but i am not sure if it is the game or my headphones still testing in regards to my current sound issue.

Sorry Gophur, but I have not received any links to a new build.

But would gladly be the guinea pig that tests a new build with older drivers

Just need a fresh build.

This should be fixed with today's release. The latest ATi drivers have a finicky OpenGL driver. We'll be using one that works with the game but this will not affect your driver installation or any other OpenGL applications.

I'm having an issue logging into the game. As reported from another userearlier, I'm getting the shield after clicking the game icon. when trying to log into the game, all it says is battleground europe has stopped working, and it'll close the game. I have an hp s5610y model with amd athlon 2 x2 250 processor. I have an ati radeon 3000 graphics card, and the amd driver is the 1.2.1 version.

1.34.10.8 works for me, with the "older" graphic drivers: 13.251.0.0

Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

Both game and settings do not "crash on launch". So actually played some minutes on live server this evening

The directx setup actually replaced some files, and would guess that did the trick.

The thing NOT working though is the windows security thing I reported earlier, and maybe that should have its own thread:

For me both "settings" and "game launcher" have an UAC shield next to them. So starting anything (even the offline mode) pops up a window "Do you want this program to change settings on your computer". That never happened with the old client (1.34.9.255)

ATI video no go, game does not even start

Even though settings.exe sees video, i do not think the game itself is seeing it because

We added a new .dll in 1.34.10.8 to the install file that fixes this for most of the 5xxx cards. Must be a different file for the 4xxx cards. Some Valve games having same issue with the newest ATi drivers. We had to get the OGL driver from the 13.1 driver and install it. May have to look at something similar here.

The OP was for version 1.34.10.5.

This issue is fixed AFAIK (tested on ATi 5xxx cards)

Doc is able to play on a 4xxx series card but he was (natch) using a very very old driver. Updating to the current drivers borked his system but cause unknown.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

AMD notes that the latest drivers only support back to 5xxx series cards. This would lead me to believe that they don't have a driver for the 4xxx cards that supports the latest DirectX.

We use VS2010 to create the executables and older versions of DirectX (well it's actually the OGL driver that is included) are not available to us.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%207%20-%2064

AMD states that they have basically put this series in legacy mode. It is possible they can update it to work with the game and other games if there are complaints BUT I've worked with AMD a long time and I would not count on it.

Here's to a Merry Christmas!

Merlin do you have the 1.34.10.8 installed? PLease double check.

Sorry slow reply, been busy with work

Yes have wwiiol000131008.exe installer 11/30/2014

redid as a clean fresh install

have file atioglxx.dll 11/27/2014

version 6.14.10.12002

Which might not match up to the 4 series cards as they use 6.14.10.1162

I am going to try swapping it for the 6.14.10.1162 version and see what takes place.

If it works i'll be happy to send it to you

Edit, Yes GOPHUR, it does work

ogl dll included is incompat with 4 series drivers (nothing abnormal there)

I can give you the required DLL if you want, and you guys could either do something on the installer to let user choose or just make it available for download page or something.

Cant see tossing the card when it still gets 50+ fps in this game

PS tell DOC install the newest legacy BETA drivers

then copy atioglxx.dl_ from C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_13.4_Legacy_Beta_Vista_Win7_Win8\Packages\Drivers\Display\W86A_INF\B156345 to a temp dir

then in command prompt type

cd path to temp dir

then

extract atioglxx.dl_ atioglxx.dll and put it in the games directory

Another thought

For ATI, since the ogl dll is actually already on the players PC, can't you just call their installed version rather than including with game?

Almost every 2nd new AMD Driver Package comes w a new OGL version as well, that in itself isnt bad but since 13.3 the OGL included in every AMD Package produces Ground Flicker in-game, so to speak. Since that atioglxx.dll file gets overwritten w every new AMd Driver installation you will always call the maybe newer but, for the game, not ideal atioglxx.dll version. The Version from 13.3 or 13.2 included into the game installation and residing in the game folder per se will be called up first, if included, before the game defaults to the System folders to look for the file anyway.

We install the ogl driver into the root game directory which will cause the executable to use our version instead of the core installed version. Or it should...

It will - .dll in root folder of game will take preference over same .dll in systems folder to which .exe defaults if no .dll present in root folder - dork speak alright...

Works fine with AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series (think I posted my exact driver specs before)

  • Tried install without uninstall worked fine.
  • Settings starts fine
  • Game starts fine
  • atioglxx.dll is not in game directory anymore (although installer really removes all files in that dir during install, so was a bit scared, but keymapping seem to be left alone, at least my mouse was still inversed, hehe)
  • Installer much smaller than before though:
    • Filesize: wwiiol0000134109a.exe (491 935 245 byte)
      • CRC-32: aca3b5ae
      • MD4: 1f1c2aefe455f14963309a1dd73e55f5
      • MD5: a8561de0df805146116753b2335fdeed
      • SHA-1: 89710263cc36c99f26ff5f3a49d323fca84743a8

      [*]Old Filesize: wwiiol0000134109.exe (587 777 868 byte)

Great job with new installer because the older beta-installer (and last known released installer) is much bigger and clunky
