Just had a similar experience in-game: running beta on Mac

Got in game and I noticed numerous enemy player models were invisible. You could hear them and see the muzzle flashes, but could not see the players. Friendly player models were visible, but not all appeared on the minimap.

Also, unsure if it was server or what, as mentioned in a long-running other thread - but a lot of kills were taking place through walls and points of cover. I understand the lag bit, but when you spawn into a depot and are killed immediately by rifle/SMG fire - something is fishy.

I haven't noticed enemy units invisible (though - if they were, how would you notice, lol).

The game seems to have a long standing rendering issue where it seems players are sometimes rendered a bit late; but I've never really been able to confirm it.

Enemies seem as they where pre mac beta as well as I can tell, I haven't seen any noticeable difference; but I'll keep trying to watch for it (lol, though - how do you watch for invisible ei?).

fyi, One thing I have noticed is that AI soldiers don't render at times, though this could be a completely different issue and doesn't happen often.

Muzzle flashes are still visible - but the player model itself is not. Little bursts of light on screen. "Hey cool they added fireflies... annnnnnd I'm dead."

I'll try to get a recording or screencap of it, but it's always too late, and can't really anticipate this stuff to start it beforehand.

However, I haven't noticed it the past couple times I logged in.

Set infantry LOD to lowest and retest.

i noticed some of this the other day and for giggles i tried that and it seemed to make a difference (using beta .09)

I noticed if i changed distance they would be there and then not.

Maybe a fluke but worth trying

Sounds like this will probably fix it, I'll give it a shot and report back if the issue continues. Thanks merlin.

Yeah let me know because weirdness.

No changes on the host vislist generation and no changes to third person LOD ranges or art work other than some texture swaps. Odd.
