Third person engine always on bug

I don't know if this one has been posted, but I've been getting it a lot lately.

Sometimes when someone starts their engine, any vehicle, I get 2 engine noise sounds from one source: The real engine noise which corresponds with his movement and speed, and the ghost one, which sounds like the engine going full speed in top gear.

The ghost engine noise never goes away. When they turn their engine off, the real noise stops but this gunning, revving engine noise stays on. The only way to get rid of it is for me to despawn.

I don't know what could be causing this, but it seems to be happening much more frequently since I download the new beta patch.

I agree with mosizlak, it seems to happen a lot more than before the beta update. (or the time around the release of the update)

I it only (or 99,x %) happens with friendly Pz/ Opels 232 etc.

I've heard this too and had it happen and get me killed because the enemy hears it also. running x51 alienware with gamer upgrade. same happened on the old comp though. worrisome.

How often this happening? Sounds like you aren't getting the packet to turn off the initial idle sound. Unsure.

Happens every day, to me at least.

Next time it happens I'll turn on fraps so you can at least hear what I'm hearing.

Pretty sure this is happening to a bunch of people.

I've not noticed this anymore often than pre test.

I would guess it's likely the person displaying the "engine on bug", their packet with "I turned the engine off" packet getting lost.

@ Moz, next time it happens pm the guy and ask his ping and FPS. I'd about bet he's either high ping (250ms or more) and or very low fps (low end comp about dragged to it's knees by the game).

If that's seems the case then update this thread.
