Game Not Running

So I updated the game and it says everything is peachy. I go to start the game (Offline/Online doesn't matter) and it begins the process until it gets to the splash screen and it just crashes/closes out.

I've done a complete uninstall/reinstall and that doesn't help. I get no errors when installing but I didn't think about disabling my virus scanner which I will do after work.

Question is does/did anyone else have this issue? What did you have to do to fix it?

Make sure the game is using your video card and not your onboard ....

Things might have changed

Saw a post about ATI cards. Doc talking about just replacing them with nvidia cards. Sorry but that isn't an option. I'm not swapping out hardware every time there is an update.

My account is on grace now, If I can't get this resolved I will have no choice but to unsub. :-(

When you hit play, does the screen go black for a second then your back at the desktop?

If so the first thing to check is to run the settings program and make sure that your correct graphics card & sounds card are selected.

Make sure your graphics card driver is up to date.

Make sure your DirectX is up to date. This can be the cause of sound not working as well.

DirectX link http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/downl...ils.aspx?id=35 is the best bet, it's all the DX libraries.

1. Run install - make sure it seems like it downloaded and installed something

2. Reboot

3. Go into WWII settings and update sound selection to what is correct for you (for me is was VIA HD speaker settings, probably something different for everyone else or primary sound driver)

4. Launch WWII

If after this you still can't get it to launch post back and we'll see if we can't find out what the issue is.

Although my video drivers weren't that old, they seem to have been the problem. Thanks for the suggestions folks.
